BÆRSkin Tactical Supply Co. is an outdoor apparel brand specializing in weather-resistant tactical gear, heavy-duty fleece jackets, and modular layering systems. The company designs durable, multi-pocketed outerwear engineered for outdoor recreation, demanding job sites, and severe weather conditions. Headquartered in Dover, Delaware, the organization distributes its specialized apparel to customers across North America, Europe, and international markets.

The Short Version

You design landing pages and store sections, and you build them. You take a brief to a working page in days, with the help of our section kit and a Senior Design Engineer who reviews your work.

This is a hands-on role with two depths: design and front-end code. You do not need years of experience. You need a strong eye, clean HTML and CSS, and the drive to get better at both every month.

We use AI to design and build faster. You drive the tools and you own the result.

Fully remote, EU or LATAM, with at least four hours of overlap with the team's EU working day.

About Us

BÆRSkin Tactical Supply Co. combines rugged performance with everyday functionality to make the very best outdoor gear. We design apparel that reflects timeless values, resilience and practicality, so anyone can stay prepared and unstoppable, on the trail, in the city or wherever life takes them.

More than a brand, BÆRSkin is a mindset. Our remote-first team spans borders but shares a single focus: building durable, dependable products. Our motto is "Built for the Brave".

We are small and we punch well above our weight technically. Engineering has had zero turnover in four years. We have been shipping AI-written code to production since 2023.

The Role

This is an individual contributor role. Nobody reports to you. You sit in the TECH team, which builds and ships changes to our store and landing pages every week.

The Product Designer decides what a page is for and how it should feel. The creative lead owns the brand rules. The Senior Design Engineer owns the section kit and reviews your design and code. Within those, the layout and build decisions on your pages are yours. Engineers own checkout logic, data and release.

You will ship real pages to real customers from your first month. Small pages first, bigger formats as you grow.

Reporting line: Direct to the CTO.

The title means little. If your CV says Web Designer, Front-end Designer, UI Designer or Creative Developer, or you are self-taught with live work to show, apply.

What Will You Do?

  • Design and build. Turn a brief into a finished landing page or store section, in Figma and in code.

  • Ship variants. Build test variants fast from the section kit, so the team can learn what customers respond to.

  • Grow the kit. Add new sections to the kit in Figma and in code, with review from the Senior Design Engineer.

  • Stay on brand. Apply our typography, colour, photography and tone rules every time.

  • Design and build accessibly. Meet WCAG 2.1 AA in design and in code: semantic HTML, contrast, focus states, labels and alt text.

  • Ship with AI. Use AI to generate layouts, code and asset variations. Read what it gives you and fix it before review. Keep customer data out of unapproved tools.

Our Stack

Figma, HTML, CSS, Tailwind, React and Next.js on Vercel, our in-house tools for AI-generated landing pages, PostHog, GitHub and Linear.

Our AI tooling includes Claude, Codex and Figma AI.

You do not need to know every tool. A strong eye, clean HTML and CSS, and the ability to learn matter more than matching the list.

Skills & Qualifications

At least one year designing and building for the web, in a job, freelance or your own projects, with live pages you made yourself.

Essential

  • A good eye for layout, typography and visual hierarchy. Your portfolio shows taste.

  • Live web pages. You have designed and built pages that real people use.

  • HTML and CSS. You write clean, responsive markup without help.

  • Basic JavaScript. You can change a React component or a template and follow a code review.

  • Figma, with components and auto layout.

  • Accessibility basics. You know what WCAG 2.1 AA asks for, and you check contrast and labels.

  • Git basics, or the will to learn them in your first weeks.

  • A working AI practice for design or code. Walk us through a recent example, including what you had to fix.

  • English at B2/C1 minimum.

  • Four hours of overlap with the team's EU working day.

Desirable

  • Agency or freelance experience with fast turnaround.

  • Ecommerce or marketing pages.

  • Tailwind, React or Next.js.

  • Motion or simple animation for the web.

  • Outdoor, apparel or tactical brand interest.

  • Portuguese, because most of the team is currently based in Brazil.

How You Work

  • Eager to learn. You want to get better at design and at code, not only one of them.

  • Fast. You ship a good page this week, not a perfect one next month.

  • Precise. You check spacing, contrast and mobile layout before you share.

  • Open to review. You see design and code review as help.

  • Curious. You look at the results of your pages and ask why.

  • Direct. You ask when something is unclear, early.

  • Coachable. You take feedback and something actually changes.

How We Work

Remote-first and async-first, with agreed overlap for collaboration. We measure outcomes, not hours.

We keep process light. Decisions sit close to the work and the best-supported argument wins. Independence comes with peer review and access to help. Ask for it before a small problem becomes an expensive one.

Feedback is direct. We expect people to explain their decisions and change their minds when the evidence changes. When things break, we run blameless post-mortems and fix the underlying problem.

This Role Won't Suit You If

  • You only want to design and never touch code.

  • You only want to code and do not care how it looks.

  • You get defensive when someone reviews your work.

  • You wait to be told every step.

  • You see brand rules as a limit on your creativity.

  • You ignore accessibility when it clashes with a visual idea.

  • You ship AI-generated code you cannot read or change yourself.

What's In It For You?

  • Fully remote

  • Competitive salary with regular performance reviews

  • 26 days paid leave

  • Parental leave

  • Training budget

  • Genuinely strong colleagues, and no layers between you and the decisions

  • A clear path to Senior, with review and coaching on real work from day one

What's Next?

Apply here with a CV and a portfolio link. Include at least one live page you built yourself. Personal projects count. A cover letter is optional. If you write one, tell us about a page you designed and built, what you would do better now, and what AI did for you.

FAQ

How long is the contract? Full-time permanent with a 6-month trial period. We are looking for long-term team members, not short-term contractors.

Do I need a degree? No. We judge your portfolio and the practical exercise.

What is the interview process?

  • Screening call, 15-30 minutes. Location, overlap, availability and English.

  • Portfolio interview, 45 minutes. Walk us through a page you designed and built.

  • Practical exercise, 90 minutes live. You build one section from a brief and our brand kit.

  • Panel interview, 45 minutes, with the Senior Design Engineer or the Product Designer, an engineer and the CTO.

What is your AI policy in this process? AI is expected during the practical exercise. Use the provided tool or another agreed tool within the exercise's data-handling rules. You are responsible for explaining and validating what it produces. A human reads every application. We do not use AI to screen applications. We judge application materials by the specific evidence they provide, not by guesses about how they were written.

Will I get feedback if I am not selected? Once you have interviewed with us, feedback is available on request. We cannot give individual feedback on applications rejected before interviews.

Do you work with recruiters? No. We run our own hiring. Please do not contact us with recruiting services.

Equal Opportunity

BÆRSkin Tactical Supply Co. / Div Brands is an equal opportunity employer. We welcome applications from candidates of all backgrounds and evaluate people on skills, qualifications and ability to do the job. If you need an accommodation during the application or interview process, tell us.
