You will provide guidance on security design, policies, and standards, ensuring that our systems and data are protected against potential threats and vulnerabilities.\nYour responsibilities may span security operations, architecture, governance, risk, and compliance activities, contributing to the overall security posture of the organisation.\nCore Duties:\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams to provide security input and guidance during the design and implementation of new systems and technologies\nEvaluate and recommend security controls to mitigate risks associated with cloud, web, application, IT, and OT infrastructure\nProvide advice on security policies, standards, and best practices to ensure adherence across the organisation\nPerform threat hunting by monitoring and analysing security logs and alerts to identify potential security incidents or breaches\nManage vulnerability management processes, including identification, assessment, prioritisation, and remediation of security vulnerabilities\nImplement and maintain data loss prevention measures to safeguard sensitive information\nConduct security tests and investigations, documenting findings and recommending corrective actions\nDevelop and maintain systems accreditation documentation and support assessment activities\nCollect, analyse and present security, compliance and risk data though regular and ad-hoc reporting to meet contractual and regulatory requirements\nAssist with governance, risk, and compliance activities, including conducting risk assessments and developing risk mitigation strategies\nCollaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment with security policies and regulatory mandates\nEssential Skills:\nCyber Security, ICT or Engineering related degree or equivalent\nWorking experience in a cyber security role, with a strong understanding of security principles, technologies, and practices\nWorking knowledge of security frameworks and standards (e.g., ISM, NIST, ISO 27001) and their application in enterprise environments\nDemonstrated experience with Information Technology (IT) infrastructure, cloud computing platforms, web application security, network security, or industrial control systems (ICS/OT)\nDemonstrated hands on experience with security tools such as SIEM, EDR and vulnerability management\nExcellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex security issues and recommend effective solutions\nStrong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders\nWell-developed self-management skills and demonstrated ability to work under your own initiative to deliver outputs to time, quality and cost\nStrong written and verbal communication skills\nCurrent defence security clearance, or eligibility to obtain one\nEligibility for clearance under International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)\nWhy BAE Systems?\nHere you’ll build a career with purpose and limitless possibilities.
