The result is a work and community experience you won't find anywhere else.\nReporting to the Senior Mobile Maintenance Supervisor, the Mobile Maintenance Supervisor is accountable for ensuring safe execution of all tasks are performed by providing direction and guidance to all Mobile Maintenance Department execution teams and business support contractors. The Supervisor organizes planned and unplanned maintenance activities, this position will ensure accurate equipment health reporting and quality task execution is achieved while driving continuous improvement and value generating initiatives.\nMain Accountabilities\nPerform safety interactions and review field level risk assessments with all employees before taskLead Job Hazard Analysis when required to ensure risks are identified and controlled.\nCarry out daily safety tool box talks, periodic safety meetings, routine and statutory safety inspections,root cause analysis and planned task observations as required.\nParticipate in the development, implementation and adherence to safe work procedures/instructions andpromote safety, health and environmental awareness and compliance. Perform QA/QC assessments toidentify gaps and implement control measures for correction of all deviations to procedures and standardsand ensure/verify sustainability of corrections.\nMonitor and ensure all employee’s competency for assigned tasks, ensuring they are following theappropriate procedures/instructions/manuals, and are performed without incident, in an environmentallyresponsible manner.\nInvestigate task non-conformances/compliances thoroughly and administer corrective actions up to andincluding disciplinary action when required, in conjunction with management.\nReport, track and approve employee and contractor hours and maintain records hours worked under theSupervisor’s direction.\nUse SAP software system effectively to properly document work performed, order parts, check inventoryand monitor equipment history.\nMonitor all Maintenance equipment and infrastructure condition and ensure preventative maintenance isperformed properly. Advise and act on areas requiring improvement, repair, or correction while ensuringcompliance to all applicable standards.\nEnsure compliance to planned mobile equipment preventive maintenance schedules. Manage equipmentbacklog and track all work performed by employees and contractors under your direction to properlydocument task completion.\nThis list is not intended to be all-inclusive. Other duties may be required.\nMain Qualifications\nPost- Secondary education (College or University)\nInterprovincial Red Seal Certification of Competency in a field related to mobile equipment maintenance \nCertified CWB\nCertified Nunavut WSCC Supervisor \nCertified in First Aid\nCanadian Driver’s license to operate vehicles in Nunavut\nMinimum ten (10) years of experience in mobile maintenance management experience\nMinimum three (3) years of experience as a Mobile Maintenance Supervisor in an open pit mining environment \nExperience working in a remote Arctic operation with camp accommodations\nJob Location\nMary River Mine Site, NU, CanadaCompensation\nCompensation for this position is aligned with Baffinland’s approved compensation framework and current market conditions.
