Here are your primary responsibilities:\nElectrical Systems \nInstall, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical equipment including motors, MCCs, switchgear, transformers, VFDs, lighting, and power distribution systems.\nDiagnose and repair electrical faults in low- and medium-voltage systems.\nInterpret and work from one-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, schematics, and electrical drawings.\nPerform preventive and corrective maintenance in accordance with maintenance procedures and schedules.\nInstrumentation \nInstall, calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot field instrumentation including: Pressure, temperature, flow, and level transmitters Control valves, valve positioners, actuators, and solenoids Analytical and detection instruments Perform loop checks and instrument functional testing. \nDocument calibration and maintenance activities in the CMMS.\nProcess Control & Automation \nMaintain and troubleshoot plant process control systems including DCS, PLCs, HMIs, and associated I/O. \nSupport control loop performance through testing, tuning, and optimization to improve process stability and reliability.\nTroubleshoot control strategies, logic, interlocks, and permissives during startups, shutdowns, and process upsets.\nPerform I/O verification, loop checks, and functional testing for new or modified control systems.\nSupport control system changes and upgrades in accordance with Management of Change (MOC) requirements. \nAssist engineering and operations with automation projects, control upgrades, and system expansions.\nMaintain control system backups, documentation, and configuration records as required.\nProvide technical support during abnormal operations and participate in control-related incident investigations.\nSafety, Compliance & Reliability \nPerform all work in compliance with site safety policies, OSHA regulations, NFPA standards (including NFPA 70 and 70E), and PSM requirements.\nFollow permit systems including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Hot Work, and Confined Space Entry.\nSupport audits, inspections, and regulatory compliance activities.\nIdentify and report unsafe conditions, equipment deficiencies, and reliability risks.\nParticipate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.\nCollaboration & Documentation \nWork closely with operations, engineering, maintenance, and EHS teams to support plant objectives.\nCommunicate clearly during troubleshooting and system modifications.\nMaintain accurate documentation of work performed, equipment status, and system changes.\nLocal specific requirements for the role\nAbility to work in industrial environments with exposure to heat, noise, and chemicals.\nAbility to climb ladders, work at heights, and lift up to 35 lbs.\nWillingness to work overtime, on-call assignments, nights, weekends, and plant outages as required.\n\nWhat is Needed to be Successful in this Role (Required Skills/Abilities):\nMinimum Qualifications: \nHigh school diploma or GED required; technical degree or certification preferred. \n1–2 years’ experience as an I&E Technician in an industrial manufacturing environment; chemical or continuous process experience preferred. \nDemonstrated knowledge of: Industrial electrical systems Process instrumentation and calibration PLC/DCS-based control systems.\nAbility to read and interpret P&IDs, control narratives, cause-and-effect diagrams, and electrical drawings.\nFamiliarity with hazardous area classifications and intrinsically safe systems.\nPreferred Qualifications: \nJourneyman Electrician license or equivalent certification.\nExperience in chemical, petrochemical, refinery, or specialty chemical operations.\nExperience with specific DCS/PLC platforms (e.g., Emerson, Honeywell, Rockwell, Siemens).
