Baker is a division of Waséyabek Development Company, LLC that is wholly owned by the Nottawaseppi Huron Band of the Potawatomi, a Federally recognized Indian Tribe.\nPOSITION SUMMARY\nThe Electrical Engineer is responsible for the design, integration, and validation of electrical systems, wiring harnesses, and vehicle-related electrical components. This role supports electrical design work through prototype builds, testing, troubleshooting, and documentation efforts.\nESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS\nDesign and integrate automotive and heavy vehicle wiring systems, harnesses, and electrical components.\nDevelop and maintain wiring diagrams, harness drawings, and electrical documentation.\nConduct engineering analysis related to electrical systems and vehicle connectivity.\nSupport prototype vehicle builds and electrical system testing.\nTroubleshoot electrical issues related to wiring, components, embedded controls, and system interactions.\nContribute to process improvements, tool development, and design standards related to electrical engineering.\nWrite proposals, reports, and technical summaries.\nOther duties as requested by management.\nMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS\nBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or related field.\nExperience in automotive electrical systems, embedded controls, wiring design and integration.\nCritical thinking skills and strong attention to detail.\nProficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe.\nMust be able to support the Baker culture with a focus on teamwork and a commitment to service.\nAbility to communicate and collaborate with team members.\nGood oral and written communication skills.\nProven ability to handle confidential information with discretion.\nAbility to pass a background investigation, including but not limited to a nationwide criminal record search.\nUS Citizen / ITAR compliant.\nPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS\nMinimum 2 years of relevant electrical engineering experience.\nExperience with high-voltage vehicle electrical systems.\nWorking understanding of vehicle networking (CAN, Ethernet).\nExperience with electrical system testing, instrumentation, or prototype vehicle development.\nExperience creating wire harness drawings.\nWorking knowledge of embedded software programming languages and development practices\nHands-on experience with the fabrication, installation, and integration of electrical and electromechanical components\nPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS\nLift up to 50lb rarely\nStand/walk up to 8 hours per day \nBend occasionally\nReach/work above shoulders occasionally\nTwist rarely\nFine manipulations frequently to occasionally\nGross manipulation frequently to occasionally\nPush/pull frequently to occasionally\nSit a desk workstation for up to 8 hours per day\nWORK ENVIRONMENT\n Office environment\nClimate controlled shop\nRemote/temporary field conditions (occasional)\nTRAVEL\nThis position may require travel up to 10% of the time\nPOSITION TYPE\nThis is a full-time, exempt position\nRELOCATION\nRelocation expenses are not provided\nDISCLAIMER\nThis job description indicates in general the nature and levels of work, knowledge, skills, abilities and other essential functions (as covered under the Americans with Disabilities Act) expected of an incumbent.
