WFS is well-versed in federal contract compliance and providing outstanding support services\nPosition Summary\nWe are seeking a skilled and dependable Maintenance Technician / Mechanic to support the operation, maintenance, and repair of critical building systems and equipment at a federal facility in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. This position plays a key role in ensuring the facility remains safe, reliable, and fully operational through preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair activities.\nThe ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical aptitude, experience working with multiple building systems, and a commitment to quality workmanship and safety.\nKey Responsibilities\nPerform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and corrective repairs on facility equipment and systems.\nTroubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.\nDiagnose equipment malfunctions and implement effective solutions to minimize downtime.\nMaintain, service, and repair machinery, tools, and facility infrastructure.\nRespond to maintenance service requests and emergency repair situations in a timely manner.\nEnsure compliance with safety regulations, environmental requirements, and company procedures.\nMaintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and inspection documentation.\nSupport facility operations to ensure a safe, clean, and efficient working environment.\nRequired Qualifications\nActive Secret Security Clearance.\nHigh School Diploma or equivalent.\nEPA Section 608 Certification required.\nTechnical training and certifications in maintenance, mechanical systems, HVAC, electrical systems, industrial equipment, or related fields.\nAbility to provide documentation of annual continuing education and training relevant to the position.\nAt least three years of experience performing maintenance and repair of commercial, industrial, or government facility systems.\nStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.\nAbility to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and maintenance documentation.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience supporting federal government, Department of Defense (DoD), or secure facilities.\nMulti-trade maintenance experience including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.\nAdditional industry certifications related to facility maintenance, HVAC, electrical, or mechanical disciplines.\nExperience working in a team-oriented facilities management or operations environment.\n Disclaimer:\nThis job description indicates in general the nature and levels of work, knowledge, skills, abilities, and other essential functions (as covered under the Americans with Disabilities Act) expected of an incumbent.
