WFS is well-versed in federal contract compliance and providing outstanding support services.\n*****THIS POSITION IS CONTINGENT UPON CONTRACT AWARD*****\nJob Description \nThe Maintenance Technician / Mechanic is responsible for the operation, inspection,\nmaintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of building systems, equipment, and facility\ninfrastructure to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient facility operations. This position\nperforms a broad range of preventive and corrective maintenance activities involving\nmechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general building systems.\nThe ideal candidate is a skilled, hands-on maintenance professional with strong technical\nknowledge, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and a commitment to mission\nsuccess in a secure government environment.\nKey Responsibilities \nFacility Maintenance & OperationsPerform preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs on building systems and equipment.\nTroubleshoot mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC issues and implement\ntimely corrective actions.\n\nMaintain and repair pumps, motors, air handlers, exhaust systems, compressors,\ncontrols, and other facility equipment.\n\nMonitor equipment performance and identify opportunities to improve reliability\nand efficiency.\n\nRespond to service calls, work orders, and emergency maintenance situations.\n\nConduct routine facility inspections and document deficiencies, corrective actions,\nand maintenance activities.\n\nMechanical & HVAC Systems\nOperate, maintain, and repair heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration\nsystems.\n\nTroubleshoot HVAC controls, equipment malfunctions, and system performance\nissues.\n\nPerform filter changes, belt replacements, lubrication, and other preventive\nmaintenance tasks.\n\nEnsure compliance with EPA regulations regarding refrigerant handling and recovery.\n\nElectrical & Plumbing Systems\nPerform basic electrical maintenance and repairs, including lighting, receptacles,\nswitches, motors, and controls.\n\nTroubleshoot electrical equipment and identify operational deficiencies.\n\nRepair and maintain plumbing fixtures, piping systems, valves, and related\nequipment.\n\nInstall replacement components and perform minor system modifications as required.\n\nSafety & Compliance\nFollow all facility safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.\n\nMaintain compliance with OSHA, environmental, and site-specific safety standards.\n\nEnsure work is completed in accordance with applicable codes, standards, and\nmanufacturer recommendations.\n\nMaintain accurate maintenance records and complete required reports and documentation.\n\nCustomer Service & Team Support\nProvide professional support to facility occupants and stakeholders.\n\nCoordinate maintenance activities with supervisors, contractors, and other trades\npersonnel.\n\nSupport special projects, facility upgrades, and operational initiatives as assigned.\n\nParticipate in after-hours, weekend, and emergency response activities as required.\n\nMinimum Qualifications \nActive Public Trust Security Clearance \nHigh School Diploma or GED.\nTechnical training in building maintenance, HVAC, mechanical systems, electrical systems, or a related trade.\nEPA Section 608 Certification.\nCurrent training certifications applicable to assigned maintenance disciplines.\nAnnual continuing education documentation related to maintenance, mechanical, electrical, HVAC, or facility operations.\nMinimum of three (3) years of experience performing maintenance and repair of commercial, industrial, or government facilities.\nWorking knowledge of HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.\nAbility to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, schematics, and drawings.\nProficiency using diagnostic tools, testing equipment, and common maintenance hand and power tools.\nValid driver's license with an acceptable driving record\nMust be a US Citizen\nRequired Certifications \nAbility to climb ladders, work from elevated platforms, and access confined spaces.\nAbility to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crawl, and work in varying environmental conditions for extended periods.\nAbility to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).\nAbility to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience supporting federal government or Department of Defense facilities.\nBuilding automation systems (BAS) experience.\nExperience working in secure or mission-critical environments.\nAdditional certifications related to facility operations, safety, or maintenance management.\nStrong troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities.\nExcellent mechanical aptitude and technical skills.\nAbility to work independently with minimal supervision.\nStrong organizational and time-management skills.\nEffective verbal and written communication skills.\nCommitment to safety, quality workmanship, and customer service.\nAbility to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.\nDependable, self-motivated, and detail-oriented\nTrade certification in HVAC, electrical,
