Our leading technologies and our ability to apply them safety and effectively create value for our customers and shareholders.\nPartner with the best\nThe successful candidate will be the technical focal point for upper and lower completion applications, responsible for developing fit-for-purpose completion solutions, supporting field execution, and driving technical excellence throughout the project lifecycle.\nThis role requires extensive experience in completion design, packers, safety valves, tubing stress analysis, sand control, and Open Hole Gravel Pack (OHGP) applications. The candidate must be capable of working directly with customers, field operations, product line teams, and global engineering organizations to deliver safe, reliable, and cost-effective completion systems.\nAs an Application Engineer, you will be responsible for:\nLeading the design and application engineering of upper and lower completion systems for offshore and onshore projects.\nDeveloping optimized completion architectures based on reservoir, wellbore, and operational requirements.\nSelecting and specify completion equipment including production packers, retrievable and permanent packers, SCSSVs, gas lift systems, flow control devices, sliding sleeves, landing nipples, seal assemblies, and intelligent completion components.\nProviding technical ownership of OHGP and sand control applications, including screen selection, gravel pack design, and execution support.\nPerforming detailed engineering analysis including tubing stress, burst, collapse, tension, compression, buckling, thermal effects, packer load calculations, and seal movement evaluations.\nUtilizing engineering software such as WellCat and other completion design tools to validate completion designs and operating envelopes.\nReviewing customer requirements and recommend technically compliant and commercially optimized solutions.\nSupporting tenders, technical proposals, and customer presentations.\nParticipating in design reviews, risk assessments and lessons learned workshops.\nProviding operational support during equipment preparation, installation, commissioning, and well start-up activities.\nTroubleshooting field issues and lead technical investigations, failure analyses, and corrective action recommendations.\nActing as the primary technical interface between the customer, operations teams, manufacturing facilities, and global engineering resources.\nMentor junior engineers and support competency development within the organization.\nFuel your passion\nTo be successful in this role you will:\nBachelor’s degree in petroleum engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.\nMinimum 12 years of completion engineering experience with strong exposure to both upper and lower completions.\nProven experience with:Production Packers\nSCSSV Systems\nIntelligent Completions\nGas Lift Systems\nSand Control Technologies\nOpen Hole Gravel Pack (OHGP) Applications\nDeepwater and offshore completion systems\nTubing Stress Analysis Software\n\nDemonstrated experience supporting major operator projects and customer-facing engineering activities.\nExcellent understanding of well integrity, completion reliability, and field execution best practices.\nExperience supporting multidisciplinary project teams in complex drilling and completion environments.\nHave excellent customer engagement and communication skills.\nProven ability to lead technical discussions and influence customer decision-making.\nExcellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.\nAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment.\nResults-oriented mindset with a strong focus on execution and operational excellence.\nWork in a way that works for you\nWe recognize that everyone is different and that the way in which people want to work and deliver at their best is different for everyone too.\nWorking with us\nOur people are at the heart of what we do at Baker Hughes.
