Working with experienced engineers, you will own defined features or components, collaborate on technical decisions, verify defects, support release testing, and take on additional project assignments as needed.\nAs an Embedded Software Engineer, you will be responsible for:\nIndependently design and deliver complex software components, seeking guidance from senior engineers when addressing unfamiliar technologies or highly complex technical challenges.\nContribute to cross-functional development projects by implementing assigned features, participating in design reviews, and communicating progress, risks, and technical tradeoffs.\nResponsible for specific aspects of assigned projects.\nMay provide bug verification, release testing or beta support. Could handle special projects, as assigned.\nTo be successful in this role you will have:\nBachelor’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering, computer engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent technical training, with 2-5 years of relevant embedded software experience.\nExperience developing embedded software for at least one processor architecture, such as x86, MIPS, or ARM. Experience with FPGA-based systems is a plus.\nWorking knowledge of embedded software fundamentals, including memory management, interrupts, concurrency, communications interfaces, and hardware-software integration.\nDesired Characteristics:\nYou do not need experience in every area listed below. We are looking for strong embedded software fundamentals and welcome candidates who are ready to deepen their expertise in the technologies used by the team.\nProfessional experience developing and debugging embedded software in C or C++; experience with both languages is desirable.\nExperience developing, testing, or debugging embedded applications on a real-time operating system, including time-critical or concurrent software.\nExperience diagnosing embedded software issues using debuggers, logs, traces, and hardware-assisted tools in local or remote development environments.\nExperience in developing software for RTOS and embedded applications\nExperience with hardware interfacing\nSome experience in device driver and BSP development is desirable.\nKnowledge of one or more embedded processor or system-on-chip architectures, such as ARM, PowerPC, LEON, or OpenRISC, with the ability to learn additional platforms as project needs evolve.\nInterest in emerging compute technologies, including general-purpose GPU computing and massively parallel processors.\nWork in a Way That Works for You\nThis role may support customer engagements across multiple regions and require approximately 10% travel, with occasional additional travel based on customer and business needs.\nWorking with us\nOur people are at the heart of what we do at Baker Hughes. The employer is unable to sponsor work authorization for this role at any time.\nThe annual pay scale for this position is between $72,140.00 - $133,930.00.Candidates for this role (office-based/ hybrid/ remote) must be located in or near the locations displayed above.
