Our commitment to innovation and operational excellence drives safer, cleaner, and more efficient energy solutions worldwide.\nFueling Your Passion\nAs the Senior Engineer, Advanced Engineering, you will lead and support fitness-for-service (FFS), remaining-life, and asset integrity assessments of fixed, rotating, and pressure equipment, including hydropower applications.\nYou will perform advanced computational analysis, develop and test engineering software tools, and manage consulting projects from proposal through delivery. The position also involves mentoring engineers, supporting quality control, cultivating client relationships, and identifying business opportunities.\nAs the Senior Engineer, Advanced Engineering, you will be responsible for:\nTechnical Delivery and Project Leadership (approximately 80%)\nPerforming advanced FFS and computational engineering work, including advanced stress, fatigue, and fracture mechanics analysis using finite element and FFS software\nConducting remaining life and asset integrity assessments for various industries\nDeveloping and testing in-house and commercial software tools to support the consulting business\nDeveloping and improving engineering methods to increase project efficiency and profitability\nInitiating and managing projects from start to finish, including responding to client inquiries, documenting project work scope and pricing, generating proposals, and delegating and guiding project tasks\nMentoring engineers on multi-person projects and guiding task delegation to support efficient delivery\nSupporting team development and recruitment\nProviding direct training to colleagues on advanced engineering tasks and solutions when required\nImplementing quality control standards and procedures for engineering deliverables and client communications, as needed\nBusiness Development (approximately 20%)\nIdentifying and cultivating business relationships and opportunities, particularly with key clients\nContributing to business development strategies that expand specific services and solutions\nWriting, reviewing, and contributing to technical papers and articles for publication and presentation at industry conferences\nPresenting Advanced Engineering capabilities at conferences and seminars as directed by management\nIdentifying opportunities to expand into new markets\nTo be successful in this role you will have:\nBachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related science or engineering field\nAt least 8+ years of related experience, including extensive engineering project experience with an original equipment manufacturer (OEM), utility, consulting group, or engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) firm\nExtensive knowledge of structural mechanics, mechanics of materials, fatigue, vibration, finite element analysis, and programming (e.g., Python)\nDemonstrated experience developing, testing, and validating engineering software used for consulting applications, including in-house tools and/or commercial software\nAdvanced experience with geometry and mesh generation methods and tools (e.g., Solidworks, Abaqus CAE, ANSYS Workbench, and FEMAP)\nDemonstrated ability to lead technical work and develop creative solutions to complex engineering problems\nDemonstrated experience applying advanced FEA methods and best practices, including nonlinear constitutive and time-dependent material models, fatigue and fracture assessment, and structural vibration analysis\nStrong problem-solving, analytical, organizational, mathematical, and written and verbal communication skills\nStrong interpersonal skills, discretion with confidential information, diplomacy, and a team-oriented approach\nAbility to obtain required industry certifications, as necessary\nProfessional Engineer (PE) license, Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, or both (highly preferred but not required for consideration)\nWork in a Way That Works for You\nThis role requires flexibility to support customer engagements.
