You will gain broad exposure to offshore operations, customer environments, subject matter experts, and research and development resources while developing the technical and professional skills required for a successful career within Baker Hughes. This role is designed for individuals who possess strong technical aptitude, a willingness to work in offshore environments, and a passion for building customer relationships while solving complex operational challenges.\nAs a Field Engineer I, you will be responsible for:\n\nCoordinating with crew members to deploy tools and services while serving as a liaison between customers and shore-based Operations Managers.\nParticipating in solving complex technical problems through hands-on offshore and field-based work.\nSupporting offshore operations by ensuring equipment is installed, maintained, and operated safely and effectively.\nPreparing, documenting, receiving, and shipping equipment and products to and from offshore worksites.\nSupporting tender preparation, data analysis, cost estimation, and invoicing activities.\nBuilding and maintaining effective technical relationships with customers, customer engineers, and operational teams.\nParticipating in training, job shadowing, and development opportunities to build a broad understanding of Baker Hughes operations.\nPromoting a strong safety culture while supporting offshore and customer-facing activities.\nFuel your passion\nTo be successful in this role you will:\nHave a Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline such as Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Geology, Engineering Technology, Mathematics, Geosciences, or a related technical field.\nBe a recent graduate or an early-career professional with approximately 3 to 5 years of experience.\nDemonstrate a willingness and ability to work offshore and support extended field assignments.\nPossess strong customer communication and technical relationship management skills.\nDemonstrate leadership potential, critical-thinking ability, and strong problem-solving skills.\nWork effectively within diverse teams while maintaining a customer-focused mindset.\nDemonstrate learning agility, coachability, and a commitment to continuous improvement.\nPrevious oilfield internship experience is beneficial but not required.\nWork in a way that works for you\nWe recognize that everyone is different and that the way people want to work and deliver at their best is different for everyone.\nPosition based in Mount Pearl, Newfoundland.\nApproximately 60% of time will be spent in Baker Hughes and customer office environments, with 40% supporting offshore operations.\nOffshore assignments may range from several days to multiple weeks depending on project and customer requirements.\nThis position does not operate on a fixed offshore rotation and may involve work across customer sites, laboratories, and technology centers.\nWorking with us\nOur people are at the heart of what we do at Baker Hughes.
