You’ll work with C/C++, embedded peripherals and systems, real-time operating systems (RTOS), and industrial communication protocols to deliver reliable, high-performance systems for challenging downhole environments. Depending on experience, you may also guide technical decisions, mentor engineers, and lead software activities across global projects.\nAs aLead Embedded Software Engineer, you will also be responsible for:\nUnderstanding system level requirements and expectations.\nAnalyzing existing complex multi-component FW/SW systems to assess the implementation and integration of new features, including code test and system regression testing methodologies.\nDelivering embedded software for microcontrollers including interacting with communication protocols / buses; low level driver development; measurement and digital signal processing; and RTOS.\nDeveloping algorithm and answer products for sensor solutions.\nDeveloping high-quality and resilient firmware solutions as part of a cross functional team including scientists, and mechanical, electric and system engineers.\nParticipating in code reviews and system performance reviews at various stages of development.\nAssessing opportunities for firmware improvements.\nSupporting qualification testing, field trials, and failure investigation of current and future products. Handling special projects, as assigned.\nFuel your passion!\nTo be successful in this role you will:\nHave bachelor’s degree in electronic, Electrical, Computer Engineering or Computer Science with 10+ years design experience; Master’s Degree in a related field with 5+ years design experience; or Ph.D. in a related field with 2+ years’ design experience.\nHave experience with programming microcontrollers using embedded C or embedded C++.\nHave experience in using electronics measurement and laboratory equipment.\nHave experience in firmware design, testing, and debugging.\nHave demonstrated experience using AI-assisted engineering tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, CodeWhisperer) to improve development efficiency, firmware quality, documentation, and test automation in embedded software projects.\nProficient in oral and written English language. Ability to prepare written technical reports and present results.\nAbility to work with remote-teams in different time-zones, time-shifting to evenings when necessary. \nPreferred Requirements:\nExperience working with large SW and FW systems and networks.\nDeveloped code for fault resistant systems / understanding of design-for-reliability requirements.\nWorked with DSP and microprocessor systems and architecture.\nFamiliar with a wide range of platforms including Microchip (dsPIC) and TI (28000 DSPs). \nUnderstanding of interfacing to common external peripherals (flash, ADC’s, RTC’s), common bus protocols (SPI, CAN, I2C) and external peripheral protocols (RS232/422/485, 802.11 WIFI, TCP/IP, and SNMP).\nKnowledge of and experience of FPGA and implementations of parallel digital signal processing. Experience in DSP and wireless communications (e.g. modulation, OFDM, error correction techniques, channel measurements and impairments, etc.). \nFamiliar with Git, CVS, SVN, TFS version control system, and Agile Scrum development.
