The Lower Completions Engineering group provides product design and technical support for our lower completion product line equipment worldwide. The Sr. Engineer is to assist the Wellbore Construction group in the development of new products, provide support for the existing products, and respond to operations/customer feasibility work.\nAs a Sr. Engineer, you will be responsible for:\n\nExecuting a variety of engineering responsibilities for new, modified, and existing Lower Completions products that include ICDs, Sand Control Screens, Sand Control Packers and MST Systems and tools, and Barrier Valves.\nPerforming design activities, including 3D CAD design, layouts, calculations, manufacturing drawings, tolerances studies\nPerforming component and system analysis, identifying stress levels, design solutions, and technical risks\nConducting product design reviews to iterate and improve product designs through continual collaboration\nDesigning qualification testing fixtures and compose detailed test procedures\nConducting and assisting in the assembly and lab testing of prototypes\nDrafting technical manual documentation of new products with review and approval of supervisor\nProviding technical assistance to worldwide field operations and plant personnel for new and existing products\nAssisting in project planning, creating development time and cost estimates.\nManaging the various design stages from concept development through product validation\nTo be successful in this role you will have:\nHave bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering/engineering technology\nHave 10+ Years in design engineering or sustaining engineering\nHave ability to work independently and as a member of a team\nHave verbal and written communication skills\nHave 3D CAD software experience SolidWorks\nHave ability to work “hands on” in a test lab facility and be able to lift up to 25 lbs. regularly\nDesired Characteristics:\nHave extensive experience in the design and development of lower completion tools, including ICDs, screens, barrier valves, sand control tools, and packers.\nUnderstanding of basic oilfield practices and applications\nExperience with product design including stress calculations, tolerances studies\nFamiliarity with qualification testing and test fixture design\nKnowledge of manufacturing processes/design for manufacturability\nExperience with SolidWorks\nExperience with Teamcenter PLM software\nFEA experience\nFamiliarity with one or more of the following API standards……API 19AC, 19SS, 19V, 11D1, 19ICD\nWorking with us\n Our people are at the heart of what we do at Baker Hughes.
