The role requires strong technical capability, a proactive mindset, and the ability to raise improvement ideas that enhance HSE, Quality, delivery, cost, and operational performance.\nRole Overview\nThe role is responsible for supporting manufacturing wiring, assembly, testing, and reliability activities for Drilling & Evaluation downhole tools and related electro-mechanical systems. The technician will perform hands-on technical work within the limits of proven competence, follow formal procedures, and support operational readiness through accurate execution and documentation.\nPartner with Us:\nAs an Engineering Professional - Mechanical Component, you will be responsible for:\nPerform wiring, assembly, testing, and troubleshooting of electro-mechanical drilling tools, components, and related equipment.\nRead and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, assembly drawings, parts lists, and technical procedures to complete work accurately and safely.\nPerform soldering and assembly of electro-mechanical components in accordance with approved work instructions and quality standards.\nUse and operate electrical test instruments, including Wee Tech, multimeters, meggers, hi-pot testers, and other relevant diagnostic tools.\nSupport scheduled, preventive, and corrective maintenance activities to ensure equipment reliability and operational readiness.\nPerform quality assurance checks in line with manufacturing, engineering, ISO, and internal compliance requirements.\nApply technical knowledge of AC/DC electrical circuits, , mechanical assemblies, and precision measuring equipment.\nIdentify technical issues, support root cause analysis, and contribute to practical troubleshooting solutions.\nCollaborate with cross functional teams, including quality and engineering to resolve technical and operational issues.\nMaintain accurate assembly administration records, system updates, and documentation required for traceability and compliance.\nFuel your passion!\nTo be successful in this role you will:\nHigh School Diploma or equivalent is required.\nDiploma, associate degree, or bachelor’s degree in Electro-Mechanical Technology, Engineering Technology, Electrical, Mechanical, or a related technical discipline is preferred.\nTechnical vocational certification in AC/DC electrical circuits, fluid power systems, or a related technical field is preferred.\nMinimum of 4 years of relevant experience in electro-mechanical wiring, assembly, testing and troubleshooting\nPrevious experience in Baker Hughes Drilling Services TIDs full rebuild / Manufacturing assembly for downhole MWD/LWD tools.\nDemonstrated track record of proactively raising Stop Work actions related to HSE, Quality, or operational risk, with the ability to identify unsafe conditions, quality concerns, and process deviations.\nProven contribution to improvement ideas, initiatives, or projects that delivered measurable value to Drilling Services in safety, quality, delivery, cost, and operational efficiency.\nStrong proactive mindset with demonstrated ownership, accountability, and a continuous improvement approach across HSE, Quality, delivery, and cost performance.\nStrong mechanical aptitude with practical experience using general hand tools and precision measuring equipment.\nAbility to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.\nStrong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.\nAbility to identify technical problems, follow structured troubleshooting steps, and support timely resolution.\nWork in a way that works for you\nWe recognize that everyone is different and that the way in which people want to work and deliver at their best is different for everyone too.\nWorking flexible hours - flexing the times when you work in the day to help you fit everything in and work when you are the most productive\nWorking with us\nOur people are at the heart of what we do at Baker Hughes.
