Baker Hughes is an Equal Employment Affirmative Action Employer.\nAbout this Job\nThe Test Lab Mechanic III is responsible for the assembly, testing, and validation of components, subassemblies, and finished products in laboratory and simulated field environments. This role ensures equipment is assembled and tested according to engineering specifications, customer requirements, and established safety and quality standards. The technician will record test data, maintain equipment and test fixtures, and support continuous improvement initiatives while working collaboratively with engineering and test lab teams.\nAs a Test Lab Mechanic you will be responsible for:\nAssembling components, subassemblies, and equipment according to documented procedures and engineering drawings.\nConducting functional testing of products and systems based on customer specifications and engineering standards.\nPerforming testing in laboratory and simulated field conditions, accurately documenting and recording test results.\nOperating, maintaining, and troubleshooting testing equipment, machinery, and test fixtures.\nEnsuring all testing activities are conducted using proper safety procedures and precautions.\nMaintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with company policies and procedures.\nSupporting material handling activities, including the use of forklifts, cranes, and other equipment as required.\nCollaborating with engineering and test lab teams to resolve issues and support continuous improvement efforts.\nWorking independently with minimal supervision while contributing effectively as a team member.\nPerforming other duties as assigned.\nFuel your passion!\nTo be successful in this role you will have:\nA High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.\nMinimum of 2 years of experience in a laboratory, manufacturing, assembly, or shop environment.\nStrong mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience in equipment assembly.\nAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and work instructions.\nProficiency with hand tools and assembly equipment.\nBasic computer skills, including data entry and documentation.\nStrong attention to detail and commitment to quality.\nEffective problem-solving skills and customer-focused mindset.\nAbility to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.\nPreferred Qualifications\nForklift certification or prior forklift operating experience.\nExperience operating overhead cranes and material handling equipment.\nFamiliarity with testing equipment, instrumentation, and data collection processes.\nPhysical Requirements\nAbility to sit, stand, bend, and move for extended periods throughout the workday.\nAbility to lift and move materials and equipment in accordance with safety guidelines.\nAbility to perform material movement activities using forklifts, cranes, and manual handling methods as required.\nAbility to work safely around laboratory and manufacturing equipment.\nWork in a way that works for you\nWe recognize that everyone is different and that the way in which people want to work and deliver at their best is different for everyone.\nWorking with us\nOur people are at the heart of what we do at Baker Hughes.
