This role will work with complex financial and operational datasets, combining information from multiple sources, identifying discrepancies and trends, transforming data, and developing reliable analytical and reporting solutions.\nThe ideal candidate combines strong data-analysis and technical capabilities with financial acumen and an understanding of how data flows through financial models, reporting processes, and business decision-making.\nKey Responsibilities\nAnalyze large and complex financial and operational datasets to identify trends, discrepancies, relationships, and data-quality issues.\nCompare datasets from multiple systems and identify differences, missing records, duplicates, and reconciliation issues.\nPerform complex joins, merges, lookups, aggregations, and data transformations across multiple data sources.\nDevelop and maintain sophisticated Power Query solutions for data ingestion, cleansing, transformation, reconciliation, and reporting.\nBuild and maintain VBA macros and Excel automation to streamline repetitive processes and improve the accuracy and efficiency of existing workflows.\nDesign analytical processes that are repeatable, auditable, and scalable.\nWork with complex Excel workbooks and financial models, understanding formulas, dependencies, assumptions, calculations, and data flows.\nValidate data used in financial models and reporting and investigate unexpected results or variances.\nTranslate business and financial requirements into practical data-analysis and automation solutions.\nPartner with business teams Qualifications\nAdvanced expertise in Microsoft Excel, including complex formulas, pivot tables, lookups, dynamic data analysis, and large datasets.\nAdvanced hands-on experience with Power Query (M), including merging and appending queries, conditional transformations, grouping, data cleansing, and combining data from multiple sources.\nStrong VBA development and Excel automation skills.\nStrong understanding of relational data concepts, including joins, keys, relationships, aggregations, and data transformation.\nDemonstrated ability to compare and reconcile large datasets and systematically investigate differences.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.\nExperience working with financial or accounting data.\nWorking knowledge of financial models, including the ability to understand model inputs, assumptions, calculations, outputs, and dependencies.\nAbility to independently take an ambiguous data problem, determine the appropriate analytical approach, and produce accurate and understandable results.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience with SQL and relational databases.\nExperience with Power BI, Power Pivot, DAX, or similar business-intelligence tools.\nFamiliarity with government-contract financial concepts such as contract funding and indirect rates.\nExperience automating manual Finance or operational reporting
