The role is based in our London office to lead and grow a new team in this location. The ideal candidate will be an established Geotechnical Engineer or Geo-Environmental Engineer. \nThe team is dynamic and values fresh innovative ideas! There is a great spirit across the wider team who often get together for social events.\nThe successful candidate will have demonstrable engineering geology/geotechnical engineering or geo - environmental engineering experience within a design consultancy, with the ability to develop and lead a new regional team.\nExpert understanding of ground engineering issues, including desk studies, ground investigation specifications, technical report writing, and ground modelling, is required. As is the ability to win work and develop a client portfolio.\nOur works cover the whole of the United Kingdom with schemes delivered as far north as Shetland and as far south as Devon. The role will expose the successful candidate to a range of challenging site and ground conditions rather than being siloed within a region's geology.\nObjectives\nAct as lead in our London office with a view to grow a new team in the southern region. \nWin work and develop clients in the southern region.\nAct as technical lead and reviewer for all aspects work on a range of project sizes across the following sectors: Rail, Power, Defense, Aviation, Public Sector and Life Sciences\nLead the delivery of ground engineering packages across multiple projects, as part of a single or multi-discipline design team, carry out any or all stages from concept to completion.\nContribute to the development and mentoring of junior staff.\nSkills and Experience\nA degree in Geology/ Civil Engineering or Environmental Science.\nChartered Member of an appropriate body GeolSoc, ICE, IMMM, CIWEM etc\nRoGEP preferably at Specialist or Adviser grade or SilC.\nTechnically competent in all aspects of ground engineering.\nIdeally the candidate will have demonstrable checking and reviewing experience of the following:Desk study reports\nScoping and delivery of ground investigations\nGround modelling\nGeotechnical Interpretive Reports/ DQRA\nProject delivery within some of the sectors we operate within.\n\nFull understanding and delivery of assurance/sign off requirements\nUp to date with adoptable standards and practices.\nProven track record of exceptional project delivery and client satisfaction\nProven ability to work within a fully integrated, multidiscipline design team\nExceptional communication skills both written and oral\nExcellent IT skills\nFull UK driving license\nA willingness to travel for short periods of site works within the UK\nMany of the positions within our company are subject to security clearance or security assurance levels. \nThe successful candidate must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate level of security clearance or assurance level for this role, in line with client and sector requirements.\nIn some cases, additional nationality or residency criteria may also apply due to specific client or national security obligations.\nFurther information on National security clearance levels can be found on the UK Government website: (National security vetting: clearance levels - GOV.UK) \nAbout BakerHicks \nWe’ve been innovating in design, engineering and project delivery since 1957 and operate from 14 locations for a truly European reach.
