This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to some of the UK's most critical energy infrastructure projects, including the National Grid's ambitious Great Grid Upgrade programme, the largest overhaul of the UK's electricity network since the 1960s.\nWorking alongside experienced engineers and designers, you will play a key role in the development of high-quality 3D models and technical drawings that support the delivery of overhead line projects across the transmission network.\nThis role offers excellent career development opportunities within a growing team, allowing you to build specialist expertise in HV infrastructure and digital engineering solutions.\nWhat You'll Be Doing\nProducing 3D models and drawing deliverables for HV Overhead Line projects using Tekla Structures.\nCollaborating closely with OHL engineers to ensure accuracy and completeness of design deliverables.\nCreating detailed models, general arrangements, schematics and construction drawings.\nEnsuring all deliverables comply with BakerHicks and client CAD standards.\nSupporting site surveys and incorporating survey data into design models and drawings.\nProcessing, updating and maintaining engineering drawings and records.\nPerforming quality checks and contributing to a \"right first time\" delivery culture.\nIdentifying opportunities to improve workflows, standards and team processes.\nSupporting multidisciplinary project teams to develop integrated engineering solutions.\nProviding guidance and technical support to junior CAD technicians where appropriate.\nAbout You\n\nEssential\nProven experience using Tekla Structures within an engineering design environment.\nStrong 3D modelling and technical drafting capabilities.\nExperience producing accurate and high-quality engineering drawings.\nGood understanding of CAD standards and document control processes.\nStrong communication and organisational skills.\nAbility to manage multiple priorities and meet project deadlines.\nA proactive and collaborative approach to working within multidisciplinary teams.\nDesirable\nExperience within the Transmission & Distribution, utilities, infrastructure or energy sectors.\nKnowledge of HV Overhead Line projects, tower modelling, set drawings and wire clearance drawings.\nExperience with:\nAutoCAD / AutoCAD LT\nBentley MicroStation\nAutodesk Fusion\nCivil 3D\nAutodesk Revit\nExperience supporting site surveys and redline drawing updates.\nExperience mentoring or supporting junior CAD technicians.\nWhy this role?\nYou will form part of a team that is a trusted partner for some of the UK's key clients, delivering detailed and complex turnkey designs\nYou will work on flagship, high-profile projects - some of the most exciting in the UK with the ability to see your projects come to life through the full design lifecycle\nYou will be joining a diverse, established team with a varied background of skills and expertise, who value new ideas and welcome innovative solutions.
