As we continue to expand, we are looking for a CAD Technician to join our HV Overhead Line (OHL) team within the Power Sector.\nReporting to the OHL CAD Team Lead, you will play an integral role in delivering high-quality design outputs for a range of transmission and distribution projects. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a collaborative and supportive team, contributing to projects across HV Overhead Lines, underground cables, and substations.\nPlease note: Experience producing Overhead Line (OHL) Wire Clearance Diagrams is essential for this role and will be a key consideration during the selection process.\nKey Responsibilities\nProduce OHL Wire Clearance Diagrams, Insulator Set & Conductor Sub-system Drawings, Material Lists, and Route Plan Drawings.\nDevelop detailed drawings, models, and technical documentation for HV transmission and distribution projects.\nUpdate and modify designs in accordance with client standards, specifications, and procedures.\nWork closely with engineers and multi-disciplinary teams to deliver coordinated and innovative design solutions.\nEnsure accuracy, quality, and compliance with CAD standards while meeting project deadlines.\nSupport knowledge sharing within the team and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and \"Right First Time\" delivery.\nAbout You\nWe are specifically looking for an experienced CAD Technician with a strong background in producing Overhead Line (OHL) Wire Clearance Diagrams. This is a key requirement for the role, and candidates should be able to demonstrate hands-on experience delivering wire clearance drawings within transmission and distribution projects.\nYou will ideally have:\nDemonstrable experience within HV Transmission & Distribution, Overhead Lines, substations, or underground cable projects.\nProven experience producing OHL Wire Clearance Diagrams (essential).\nProficiency in AutoCAD (2D & 3D); experience with Bentley MicroStation, Civil 3D, or similar design software would be advantageous.\nHNC/HND qualification (or equivalent) in an engineering-related discipline.\nStrong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.\nExcellent communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with colleagues and stakeholders.\nA proactive mindset with a keen eye for detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.\nWhy this role?\nYou will form part of a team that is a trusted partner for some of the UK's key clients, delivering detailed and complex turnkey designs\nYou will work on flagship, high-profile projects - some of the most exciting in the UK with the ability to see your projects come to life through the full design lifecycle\nYou will be joining a diverse, established team with a varied background of skills and expertise, who value new ideas and welcome innovative solutions.
