Working directly on the client's sites, we support CAD, BIM, Surveying, GIS, and Tooling activities through a team of approximately 60 specialists.\nAs our service continues to grow, we are looking for a skilled and motivated CAD Technician to join the team, providing essential drawing, modelling, and configuration management support across a diverse portfolio of architectural, civil, structural, and building services projects. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a highly regulated environment where accuracy, quality, and continuous improvement are at the heart of project delivery.\nAbout You\nYou will be an experienced CAD Technician with a strong understanding of architectural and building services coordination and a passion for delivering high-quality drawings and models. Comfortable working both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team, you'll have a proactive approach to problem-solving, excellent attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering projects right first time.\nYou will be confident engaging with stakeholders, undertaking site surveys, managing drawing records, and ensuring compliance with client standards and procedures. Experience mentoring and supporting junior team members would also be advantageous.\nKey Purpose\nProduce high-quality 2D and 3D CAD models, schematics, P&IDs, layouts, and schedules using Autodesk platforms.\nSupport the configuration control and maintenance of facility \"As Built\" and record models/drawings.\nEnsure all work is completed in accordance with company, project, and client CAD standards.\nContribute to a culture of continuous improvement and right-first-time delivery.\nWhat You Will Do\nProduce schematics, P&IDs, 2D drawings, 3D models, general arrangements, and detailed drawings across architectural, civil, structural, and building services disciplines.\nGenerate and modify CAD information using Autodesk platforms including AutoCAD Architecture and AutoCAD MEP.\nSupport configuration control and management of facility \"As Built\" and record drawings.\nComplete site surveys, accurately capturing redline amendments and asset information.\nLiaise directly with customers to understand and confirm project requirements.\nWork closely with the CAD Team Lead, Senior CAD Technicians, and project stakeholders to ensure timely project delivery.\nReview technical requirements and identify the most efficient solutions to meet client needs.\nGenerate accurate drawings from survey data and redline mark-ups.\nEnsure service level indicators (SLIs) are achieved, maintaining a strong focus on quality and accuracy.\nProcess, review, and check incoming drawings from contractors and suppliers.\nFollow configuration management and document control processes, ensuring all documentation and correspondence are correctly maintained.\nMonitor progress against allocated programmes and timescales.\nIdentify opportunities to improve workflows, efficiencies, and project delivery processes.\nMentor and support trainees and junior technicians where required.\nComply with company Health & Safety requirements and Safe Systems of Work.\n\nExperience & Skills Required\nGood knowledge of 2D and 3D architectural and building services coordination.\nProficient in AutoCAD Architecture and AutoCAD MEP.\nExperience with Revit, Navisworks, ReCap, and Point Cloud data would be advantageous.\nStrong IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications.\nUnderstanding of Common Data Environments (CDEs) and document management systems.\nKnowledge of drawing configuration and information management throughout the lifecycle of a facility.\nUnderstanding of technical standards, regulatory requirements, and data management principles.\nAwareness of construction, engineering, and building services methods and processes.\nExperience working on multidisciplinary construction and engineering projects.\nAbility to interrogate technical information and present outputs that meet client requirements.\nStrong communication and stakeholder management skills.\nAbility to adapt to changing priorities and project requirements.\nProven ability to deliver projects accurately, on time, and to a high standard.\nCommitted to working in accordance with industry standards, procedures, and best practice.\nHighly motivated, proactive, and able to work effectively using your own initiative.\nQualifications\nIdeally educated to HNC level or above in a CAD-related discipline.\nAutodesk-certified training or qualifications would be advantageous.\nMany of the positions within our company are subject to security clearance or security assurance levels.\nThe successful candidate must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate level of security clearance or assurance level for this role, in line with client and sector requirements.\nIn some cases, additional nationality or residency criteria may also apply due to specific client or national security obligations.\nFurther information on National security clearance levels can be found on the UK Government website: (National security vetting: clearance levels - GOV.UK) \nAbout BakerHicks \nWe’ve been innovating in design, engineering and project delivery since 1957 and operate from 14 locations for a truly European reach.
