This is a hands-on planning role working closely with integrated project teams to develop, manage, and control project schedules on technically complex engineering projects.\nYou’ll play a key role in ensuring programme compliance, identifying risks early, and supporting successful project delivery within a highly regulated environment.\n\nThe Role\nAs Planner, you will be responsible for the development, maintenance, and reporting of multiple project schedules, ensuring alignment with contractual obligations and internal procedures. You will work closely with Project Managers, Engineers, and client stakeholders to provide accurate, timely schedule information that supports informed decision-making.\nThis role requires strong analytical capability, excellent attention to detail, and the confidence to engage with multidisciplinary teams and clients.\n\nKey Responsibilities\nDevelop, manage, and maintain robust project schedules for EPCM projects.\nIntegrate schedule updates, changes, and progress data accurately and consistently.\nMonitor project performance against baseline schedules and identify variances.\nPrepare regular programme reports, highlighting progress, risks, and mitigation actions.\nSupport resource planning and workload forecasting in collaboration with project teams.\nIdentify schedule risks and contribute to contingency and mitigation planning.\nParticipate in project meetings and act as a key point of contact for planning matters.\nEnsure schedules comply with contractual and internal governance requirements.\n\nAbout You\nYou’ll be an experienced Planner with:\nExperience managing multiple project schedules concurrently within engineering or construction projects.\nProven experience using Primavera P6, which is essential for this role.\nIdeally, experience working within Life Sciences or Pharmaceutical environments.\nThe ability to work confidently in a regulated, client-facing environment.\nStrong analytical skills and excellent attention to detail.\nThe ability to engage effectively with multidisciplinary project teams and client stakeholders.\nWillingness and ability to work onsite at the client’s life sciences facility in Barnard Castle a minimum of 4 days per week.\nPreferably based in the Northeast region, given the onsite requirements of the role.\nWhy BakerHicks\nBakerHicks is a leading engineering and project delivery company with a strong track record in Life Sciences, Advanced Manufacturing, and Regulated Infrastructure.
