Working across the client's sites, we deliver specialist support in CAD, BIM, Surveying, GIS and Tooling through a dedicated team of approximately 60 professionals.\nAs our service continues to expand, we are looking for an experienced Senior CAD Technician to provide technical leadership, drawing support, and supervisory oversight across a wide range of multidisciplinary projects. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in delivering high-quality CAD solutions, driving standards, mentoring colleagues, and ensuring the effective management of facility record information within a highly regulated environment.\nAbout You\nAs a Senior CAD Technician, you will bring extensive experience in the delivery, coordination, and management of CAD models and technical drawing packages across architectural, civil, structural, and building services disciplines. You will be confident supervising technicians, managing project deliverables, and ensuring compliance with company and client standards.\nYou will have a strong technical understanding of Autodesk software platforms, Common Data Environments (CDEs), configuration management processes, and multidisciplinary design coordination. With a proactive and delivery-focused approach, you will champion quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement while supporting the development of junior team members.\nKey Purpose\nProduce and supervise the delivery of high-quality 2D and 3D CAD models, schematics, P&IDs, layouts, and schedules using Autodesk platforms.\nLead the coordination of architectural, civil, structural, and building services modelling activities.\nManage model content creation, configuration control, and compliance with company CAD standards.\nPerform model audits and prepare deliverables for issue to internal and external stakeholders.\nPromote a culture of right-first-time delivery and continuous improvement across the team.\nWhat You Will Do\nProduce and coordinate schematics, models, general arrangement drawings, and detailed drawings in accordance with client standards and procedures.\nGenerate and supervise the production of CAD models covering architectural, civil, structural, and building services disciplines.\nManage and oversee facility \"As Built\" and record model configuration control processes.\nEnsure all tasks are completed in accordance with company standards, project requirements, and BIM Execution Plans (BEPs).\nUndertake updates and modifications to facility drawings to maintain accurate records and information management.\nComplete and supervise site surveys, ensuring redline changes and asset information are captured accurately.\nPerform model audits and quality reviews prior to issue to customers, contractors, and suppliers.\nOversee technical quality assurance by independently reviewing, approving, and coordinating multidisciplinary CAD deliverables.\nManage and maintain CAD templates, block libraries, and modelling standards to ensure consistency across projects.\nEstimate tasks and oversee delivery in line with Service Level Indicators (SLIs), budgets, and agreed timescales.\nMonitor project progress and associated costs against estimates.\nEnsure compliance with company security procedures, health and safety requirements, and safe systems of work.\nMentor and support trainees and CAD Technicians, helping to develop technical capability across the team.\nExperience & Skills Required\nExtensive knowledge of 2D and 3D architectural and building services coordination.\nAdvanced experience using Autodesk software including AutoCAD Architecture and AutoCAD MEP.\nExperience with Revit, Navisworks, ReCap, and Point Cloud data would be advantageous.\nExtensive knowledge of Microsoft Office and associated IT systems.\nStrong understanding of Common Data Environments (CDEs) and document management systems.\nExtensive experience producing CAD models, libraries, templates, and associated routines.\nStrong understanding of configuration control principles and model governance.\nAbility to review and select appropriate engineering techniques, procedures, and methodologies.\nAbility to set clear priorities, manage workloads, and support team performance.\nCommitment to working in accordance with relevant industry standards, regulations, and company procedures.\nQualifications\nIdeally educated to HNC level or above, preferably within a CAD, Engineering, Construction, or Building Services related discipline.\nAutodesk certification from an approved training provider is highly desirable.\nA Building Services background would be advantageous.\nMany of the positions within our company are subject to security clearance or security assurance levels.\nThe successful candidate must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate level of security clearance or assurance level for this role, in line with client and sector requirements.\nIn some cases, additional nationality or residency criteria may also apply due to specific client or national security obligations.\nFurther information on National security clearance levels can be found on the UK Government website: (National security vetting: clearance levels - GOV.UK) \nAbout BakerHicks \nWe’ve been innovating in design, engineering and project delivery since 1957 and operate from 14 locations for a truly European reach.
