Senior or Principal OHL Design Engineer to join our expanding team.\nIn this role, you will report to the Associate OHL Engineer and take responsibility for all design elements associated with new build and refurbishment of overhead transmission lines across the UK.\nThe ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise in producing designs, calculations, reports and drawings for OHL projects ranging from 11kV to 400kV, using PLS-CADD and PLS-Tower, and be familiar with UK Transmission Owner specifications.\nResponsibilities:\nTake ownership and lead production of OHL detailed design packages.\nEnsure compliance of designs with client and national technical standards.\nLead team of junior engineers on the production of design packages and support their technical development.\nPrepare calculations and technical/equipment specification documentation.\nExecute complex assignments requiring the use of advanced techniques, resulting in the development of new or improved processes, equipment, and/or technological methods.\nUndertake consultancy role on FEED stage projects, including production of technical reports and presentations.\nMaintain compliance to CDM Regulations and all other legal and regulatory requirements associated with the nature of Overhead Line works\nManage the delivery of projects in accordance with Management Systems to meet time, quality, budgetary and health and safety targets.\nOverall OHL design with PLS-CADD in accordance with BS-EN 50341.\nProduction and checking of detailed drawings for the OHL design.\nProduction of wind load cases in accordance with BS-EN 50341 and relevant NNA\nAnalysis of OHL structures with PLS-Tower.\nProduction of foundation loads.\nDesign and analysis of OHL Foundations.\nAssist in the tendering process.\nPreparation of design technical reports and other written documents.\nProduction of design concepts, drawings, specifications and other technical documents.\nThe adherence to and control of documents and drawings in accordance with Baker Hicks management procedures.\nDesign input/output within the designated risk management process.\n\nAbout You:\n\nProven experience producing all designs, reports, calculations and drawings for OHL projects from 11kV to 400kV\nSignificant experience in HV OHL design within the UK Transmission & Distribution sector\nStrong proficiency in PLS-CADD and PLS-Tower\nExperience delivering design packages compliant with UK Transmission Owner specifications\nBSc/BEng or MSc/MEng or equivalent in appropriate Engineering discipline.\nChartered or Incorporated Engineer professional status, or equivalent or working towards\n\nPreferable: experience as a CDAE under National Grid SR188 or the ability to meet requirements\nWhy this role?\nBe
