This role also includes oversight of inspection report development and updates for use by machine operators and assembly personnel. (MCOSMOS and/or CALYPSO)\n· Lead and maintain the facility's calibration program, ensuring gages and inspection tools remain compliant and traceable.\n· Oversee the physical testing and inspection of customer returns in the water pump product lines, documenting findings and collaborating with assigned engineers for root cause investigation.\n· Develop and maintain inspection reports, instructions, and visual aids for use by machine operators and assembly personnel, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and alignment with current specifications.\n· Review and interpret engineering drawings, including GD&T, and customer specifications to develop appropriate inspection plans.\n· Maintain inspection records, calibration logs, and return test documentation in accordance with quality system requirements.\n· Assist engineers with data collection, failure mode identification, and test setup for performance evaluation of returned products.\n· Interface with production, maintenance, and quality teams to drive continuous improvement efforts based on inspection and test findings.\n· Monitor supplier certifications, raw materials, and outsourced processing for compliance with specifications.\n· Participate in and support internal audits and corrective action initiatives as needed.\nSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES\nThis position has no direct reports but may direct daily activities for lab support personnel or trainees under guidance from the Quality Manager.\nTRAVEL\nOccasional travel may be required (less than 10%) for training, supplier visits, or off-site calibration/lab support.\nQUALIFICATIONS\n· High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree in a technical discipline or formal metrology training preferred.\n· 2-4 years of experience in quality inspection or dimensional metrology, with CMM programming experience preferred.\n· Familiarity with calibration systems and equipment traceability.\n· Strong understanding of engineering drawings, GD&T, and statistical sampling.\n· Ability to work independently, communicate findings clearly, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.\n· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.\nPHYSICAL DEMANDS\nFrequent standing, walking, and manual handling of parts and gaging equipment.\nOccasional lifting of materials up to 50 pounds.\nVisual acuity for close inspection, color evaluation, and measurement readings.\nWORK ENVIRONMENT\nWork is performed primarily in a climate-controlled inspection lab and occasionally in a shop environment.\nMust adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work area.","description_format":"text","description_chars":4111,"description_truncated":false,"requirements":{"experience_years_min":2,"management_years_min":null,"team_size_min":null,"manages_managers":false,"education":{"level":"high_school","optional":true},"security_clearance":false,"languages":[]},"benefits":["Health insurance","Life insurance","Retirement plans","Vision insurance"],"hiring_locations":[],"hiring_excludes":[],"relocation_offered":false,"industries":["Manufacturing"],"lifecycle":[{"event":"open","at":"2026-09-30T00:04:39Z"}],"liveness":{"score":81,"band":"hot","label":"Hiring now","p_open":1,"p_active":0.814,"p_room":1,"age_days":4,"expected_fill_days":22,"reasons":["conf:19","win:early","comp:junior"],"computed_at":"2026-10-01T05:45:00Z"},"pay":{"stated_usd_annual":52000,"is_top_pay":false},"html_url":"https://alion.io/job/bakermfg-quality-technician","json_url":"https://alion.io/job/bakermfg-quality-technician.json","meta":{"generated_at":"2026-10-01T10:07:06Z","cache_seconds":300,"methodology":"https://alion.io/methodology","terms":"https://alion.io/terms","contact":"https://alion.io/contact","api":"https://alion.io/developers","usage":{"tier":"crawler","counted_by":"address","units_charged":1,"used_today":1190,"day_limit":5000,"remaining_today":3810,"minute_limit":60,"resets_at":"2026-10-02T00:00:00Z"}}}
