At Bala you will enjoy an exceptional employee experience that results in a successful career based on collaboration, leadership and personal development.\nBala is seeking an We are seeking a mid-level Electrical Engineer to sit in our Boston, MA office supporting the function enterprise-wide.\nPrimary responsibilities will include:\nPrepare calculations for feeders, services, short circuit, transformer size.\nDesign building electrical distribution, fire alarm and security systems.\nPerform on-site surveys of existing electrical equipment.\n Determine schedules and details required for the project. Review with project engineer.\nAttend job meetings as required.\n Ensure flow of information between disciplines.\nAssist in writing of reports and feasibility studies\nSupport developing electrical standards.\nPrepare cost estimates and specifications.\nThe basic requirements for this position include:\n3 to 6 years of experience in designing electrical power distribution infrastructure, fire alarm systems, lighting systems, both interior and exterior, and lighting controls. \nKnowledge should include familiarity with short circuit, arc flash coordination, design of interior and exterior lighting, and photometric calculations. \nBackground in commercial and healthcare facilities strongly preferred. \nBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering\nKnowledge of applicable codes including energy conservation.\nPE or EIT certification preferred. \nLEED accreditation preferred.\nProficiency with Revit design software with at least 1 year experience of formal design use.\nAs a multi-discipline engineering firm, Bala is a leader in innovative designs for building systems in High Rise, Mission Critical, Multi-Unit Housing, Commercial Office, Higher Education, Transportation, Adaptive Reuse and Life Science facilities.\nBala’s compensation package includes a rich benefits package along with market competitive salary structure.
