Due to our rapid growth, we seek passionate and talented team members who want to work in an organization that values integrity, diversity, intellectual curiosity, and accountability.\nJob Summary\nReporting to the Director of Engineering, the Sr Electrical Engineer is responsible for sustaining, value-engineering, and new product development activities related to electrical control systems and PCBAs. This role partners with cross-functional teams to design, evaluate, validate, and improve system-level performance, reliability, manufacturability, and compliance of electronic control solutions used across spa, pool, and bath applications.\nKey Job Responsibilities \nDesign, evaluate, and improve spa, pool, and bath electrical control systems and control panel boards (PCBA).\n\nLead system-level design activities, including power, control, interfaces, and integration across hardware, software, and mechanical subsystems.\n\nInvestigate and utilize new technologies where appropriate.\n\nInvestigate and resolve product problems on new and legacy products using structured root cause analysis and corrective action methods.\n\nWork with the electrical design team to improve product manufacturability, testability, and reliability.\n\nDevelop schematics, select components, and oversee PCB buildouts.\n\nDefine and support verification and validation activities for electrical systems and PCBAs.\n\nWork with the Test Engineering team to develop customized PCBAs for signal conditioning, testing, and production support.\n\nCollaborate with software, mechanical, manufacturing, quality, and sourcing teams.\n\nProvide support for sustaining and new product issues in manufacturing and the field.\n\nEnsure designs comply with applicable government, safety, and regulatory requirements, and support certification efforts as needed.\n\nSupport continual cost reduction efforts while maintaining product quality, compliance, and company reputation.\n\nQualifications\nEducation Requirements \nBachelor Of Science in Electrical Engineering\n\nExperience Requirements \nMinimum of 5+ years’ experience in electronics systems design and development; 3+ years of experience in a PCBA manufacturing environment is desirable.\n\nRequired Skills/Abilities \nExperience should include microcontrollers, power supplies, RF circuits, and system-level integration of electronic controls.\n\nProficiency with Altium Designer for schematic and PCB layout.\n\nStrong understanding of system architecture, hardware/software interfaces, and design tradeoffs for embedded control systems.\n\nExperience with verification, validation, and troubleshooting of electrical systems and PCBAs.\n\nKnowledge of design for manufacturability (DFM), design for testability (DFT), and reliability in production environments.\n\nFamiliarity with applicable safety, regulatory, and compliance standards such as UL, IEC, EMI/EMC, or similar product certification requirements.\n\nExperience developing electronics products for wet or harsh environments is a plus.\n\nGood verbal and written communication skills in English and Spanish.\n\nAbility to multitask and prioritize a changing workload.\n\nAbility to work both independently and as part of a team.\n\nPossess strong problem-solving and decision-making skills and drive solutions to completion.\n\nAbility to interact with coworkers, suppliers, and customers.\n\nAbility to travel internationally and willingness to attend global meetings across different time zones.\n\nEEO Statement\nBalboa Water Group is an equal-opportunity employer.
