We simplify the insurance experience through our advanced technology platform that supports every phase of the policy lifecycle.\nBring on your challenges and let us show you how we build insurance better.\nPosition Summary\nWe are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Compliance to enhance and continue building our Compliance organization and lead the Compliance team. This role requires a seasoned professional with a strong background in in-house Property & Casualty insurance, exceptional leadership and mentorship skills, and a passion for process improvement and leveraging technology to drive results. The ideal candidate will have at least 7-10 years of relevant experience in a compliance managerial or leadership role, a deep understanding of multi-state and federal insurance regulatory frameworks for various lines of insurance products, and preferably hold a Juris Doctorate degree.\nKey Responsibilities\nLead the Compliance team in the development, implementation, and oversight of compliance products, programs and controls.\nMaintain and continuously improve compliance policies and procedures to ensure alignment with evolving state and federal regulations.\nOversee and manage the following compliance functions and responsibilities: product compliance, regulatory change management, compliance assurance and risk mitigation, internal and external audits, market conduct exams, and regulatory inquiries.\nMonitor regulatory changes and work cross-functionally to ensure timely adoption of new requirements.\nInterface in complex cross-functional business environment and build rapport with legal counsel and business colleagues at all levels of the organization to engender confidence in decision making and judgment.\nProvide support and oversee/manage complex strategic initiatives and projects requiring originality and ingenuity.\nIdentify risks, provide assessment of risk areas, and help design/implement controls to mitigate such risks.\nFoster a culture of compliance and operational excellence through training, communication, and ongoing process evaluation.\nDrive automation and efficiency through the use of compliance tools, data analytics, and process redesign.\nLeverage and utilize AI tools to assist in the monitoring and scaling of Compliance operations.\nCollaborate with Legal, Product, and Operations teams on new product development and market expansion initiatives.\nServe as a strategic advisor to internal stakeholders on regulatory requirements, filings, and industry trends.\nReport key compliance metrics and risk assessments to senior leadership.\nPlan, organize and conduct programs, seminars, conferences and/or presentations for Company personnel to educate on compliance matters.\nWork on different special projects as assigned.\nQualifications\n7+ years of extensive experience in Property & Casualty insurance compliance, including managerial leadership.\nProven experience working in-house at a carrier, MGA/MGU, or insurance organization.\nDemonstrated ability to lead teams and develop high-performing compliance professionals.\nStrong understanding of NAIC model laws, state-specific insurance laws and regulations, and compliance frameworks for both Admitted and Non-Admitted markets.\nAdept at process improvement, workflow design, and use of compliance and data-driven tools and technology to assess compliance risk metrics.\nExceptional communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.\nStrong problem solver, excellent project management skills, and superior attention to detail.\nSkilled in development of policies, procedures, training methods and materials.\nAbility to develop optimistic and collaborative relationships and to help influence decision making by senior leadership.\nAbility to work independently and illustrate sound judgment as well as work in a team environment and encourage others to exercise professional judgment.\nHighly developed sense of ethics and integrity.\nJuris Doctorate (JD) degree highly preferred; compliance certifications (e.g., CRCM, CCEP) a plus.\nAbility to travel occasionally to support cross-office collaboration and leadership meetings, required\nClick here for some insight into our culture!\nThe Baldwin Group will not accept unsolicited resumes from any source other than directly from a candidate who applies on our career site.
