This will be a full time, field-based role based out of Marietta, GA, reporting to our Shop Manager. The majority of the time this work will be performed out in the field, with some of the work also being performed in the shop itself. Other duties may be assigned as needed.\nSUMMARY / JOB SCOPE:\nThe Grading Equipment Mechanic is responsible for the diagnostic and repairs of the Company’s grading equipment.\nREQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:\nMinimum 3 years of experience maintaining and repairing grading equipment.\nESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:\nInspects, diagnoses, repairs, and adjustsMotor Graders,\nDozers,\nExcavators,\nBackhoes, and\nRollers.\n\nRepairs and replacesFuel Systems,\nCharging Systems, and\nHydraulic Systems\n\nRebuilds and replacesCutting edges,\nTeeth,\nShanks,\nMatts,\nUndercarriages,\nChanges tracks,\nRollers,\nTurn Table & Gear box, and\nDrive hubs\n\nDetermines machines conditions by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests; identifying worn and damaged parts.\nKeeps equipment available for use by completing preventive maintenance schedules; installing component and part upgrades; controlling corrosion; completing winterization procedures.\nCorrects deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, disassembling, and replacing major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, parts, or systems, such as power and drive trains, electric air conditioning, fuel, emission, brake, steering, hydraulics; completes machine shop orientations; making adjustments and alignments including bearing loads, gear tooth contact, valve mechanisms, governors, oil systems, control linkages, clutches, and traction units.\nVerifies proper performance by conducting test drives; adjusting controls and systems.\nComplies with federal and state vehicle requirements by testing engine, safety, and combustion control standards.\nKeeps shop equipment operating by following operating instructions;Troubleshooting breakdowns\nPerforming preventive maintenance\nInitiating repairs\n\nServices equipment to includeOil changes\nAdding fluids\nChanging filters\n\nTroubleshoot and repair electrical, and hydraulic systems, diesel, and gasoline engines, transmission, and drive trains\nTest equipment performance before and after repairs\nPerforms other related duties as required, and assigned.\nRequired Education and Experience:\nAt least 2 years of experience\nHigh School diploma or equivalent.\nWORK ENVIRONMENT:\nWork is generally conducted in a shop environment. However, duties may involve the conduct of work in the outdoors area with potential exposure to extreme climatic conditions.\nWork requires bending, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting, and occasional working in cramped and awkward positions.\nFrequent exposure to conditions of inclement weather extreme heat and cold, high/ low humidity, blowing sand and dust, and working in confined spaces and at heights.\nThis job operates in a busy shop/garage setting. The role routinely uses standard shop equipment such as tools, lifts, compressors, jacks, jack stands, oil drain and oil caddies, battery chargers and jumpers, engine hoists, brake lathes, presses, etc. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.\nPHYSICAL DEMANDS:\nMust be able to climb up and down ladders and stairs, as well as bend, twist, and squat for prolonged periods.\nMust be able to pull, push, and lift up to 50 pounds.\nFunctions in inclement weather, extreme heat and cold, high/low humidity, blowing sand and dust, and working in confined spaces and at heights.\nThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by any applicant.\nThis is a full-time position.
