This position provides hands-on experience in field and office engineering functions, offering exposure to scheduling, estimating, quality control, safety, and cost management. The internship is designed to provide practical experience to students pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.\nKey Responsibilities\nAssist with daily project documentation including field reports, quantity tracking, and progress photos.\nSupport engineers and superintendents with layout, surveying, and verification of field measurements.\nParticipate in project planning and scheduling activities using tools such as Primavera P6 or MS Project.\nHelp prepare and review submittals, RFIs (Requests for Information), and change order documentation.\nObserve and support quality control and safety inspections.\nAssist in maintaining project logs, drawings, and as-built documentation.\nParticipate in weekly coordination and subcontractor meetings.\nPerform material take-offs and cost tracking for assigned work packages.\nSupport project closeout activities, including punch list and documentation review.\nLearn and apply company policies, safety practices, and construction standards.\nQualifications\nCurrently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program in Civil Engineering, Construction Management,\nor a related field.\nMinimum sophomore-level standing or equivalent coursework in construction or engineering fundamentals.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills.\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills.\nProficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); exposure to AutoCAD or Bluebeam preferred.\nAbility to work effectively in a team environment.\nWillingness to work in both field and office settings.\nLearning Objectives\nGain hands-on experience in project engineering, field supervision, and construction management.\nUnderstand the project life cycle, from preconstruction through project closeout.\nDevelop technical and leadership skills aligned with company core values and operational excellence.\nBuild a foundational understanding of safety, quality, and cost management in heavy civil construction.\nWorking Conditions\nWork is performed in both field (outdoor construction site) and office environments. May require travel or relocation to project sites.
