The Business Analyst, Sales Excellence provides the data, reporting, and insight foundation that enables ABM's sales organization to perform at its best. This role owns performance analytics, forecasting insights, and dashboard reporting across Salesforce and Power BI, turning pipeline and performance data into clear, decision-ready insights across all industry groups.
This is not a report-fulfillment role. The Business Analyst is expected to own their reporting domain end to end - pulling and structuring the data, performing the analysis, and bringing forward findings and recommendations, not just building what's requested.
The role also owns the analysis and modeling behind sales quota distribution and territory design as part of the annual readiness process and provides analytics and insights to support incentive compensation plan design.
Sales Strategy & Analytics
Build aggregated, enterprise-level views of order forecasts and sales bookings.
Develop executive dashboards, KPI reporting, and analytics within Salesforce, and own and evolve a complementary Power BI reporting suite.
Analyze pipeline health, forecast accuracy, opportunity progression, and commercial performance trends.
Translate business data into clear, decision-ready insights and recommendations for sales leadership.
Prepare data and materials supporting Monthly Operating Reviews, Quarterly Business Reviews, and strategic planning discussions.
Support daily, weekly, and monthly bookings and funnel review cadences with accurate, well-structured reporting.
Consolidate market, customer, and industry trends with internal experts to identify opportunities and threats.
Oversee the forecasting market enrichment process and provide insights for reviews.
Incentive Compensation & Territory Design
Own the data analysis and modeling behind sales quota distribution and territory design, partnering with the Sales Excellence Business Partners throughout the annual readiness process.
Provide analytics and insights to support incentive compensation plan design led by the Business Partner/Compensation team, helping ensure plans are fair and motivational.
Reporting Quality & Data Integrity
Maintain enterprise reporting definitions and standards, serving as the source of truth that business-unit-level reporting builds from.
Identify data quality issues affecting reporting accuracy and flag them to the appropriate governance owner for resolution.
Recommend and monitor the impact of dashboard and reporting enhancements that improve visibility into sales performance and commercial metrics.
Support consistent CRM reporting practices and adoption across industry groups.
Challenge current processes to identify opportunities for reporting automation and improvement. Build supporting tools like dashboards and visualizations (Power BI/SFDC CRM Analytics), and provide input to IT partners on further tooling development.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with key stakeholders (Sales, Sales Enablement, Finance, Marketing, Strategy, Operations, and Industry Group Sales Excellence Business Partners) to improve order visibility and commercial execution.
Lead sales data-related improvement projects and initiatives from scoping through execution, partnering with cross-functional stakeholders to prioritize opportunities, track progress, and measure outcomes.
Serve as a go-to resource for Sales Excellence Business Partners on daily management tasks, including preparing for and following up on quarterly/monthly business reviews.
Bachelor's degree in Business, Analytics, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
4-6 years of experience in Sales Analytics, Sales Operations, Business Analytics, or a related analytical function.
Strong data analysis and data visualization skills, with hands-on Power BI experience required.
Advanced Salesforce reporting and dashboard experience (Salesforce CRM Analytics).
Excellent communicator with strong analytical and organizational skills; proven experience leading operational processes, synthesizing data, and understanding business dynamics.
Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional teams without direct authority.
Comfortable owing to the full arc of an analysis, from raw data to a clear, actionable takeaway, not just executing a report spec.
Excels at collaborating with sales leaders, simplifying complex information, and delivering strategic insights while managing multiple projects; a well-organized multi-tasker who navigates tight deadlines, competing priorities, and consensus-building.
