Whether in the field or the office, our teams are united by a shared commitment to innovation, safety, and delivering exceptional results for our clients.\nJob Summary:\nThe Assistant Project Manager (APM) supports the planning, coordination, and execution of civil/site development projects from pre-construction through closeout. Working under the direction of a Project Manager, the APM helps ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to quality standards.\nThis role is ideal for someone who is technically strong, highly organized, eager to learn, and ready to grow into a full Project Manager role. The APM collaborates with engineers, subcontractors, field teams, and clients while assisting with documentation, scheduling, procurement, and daily project administration.\nJob Duties:\nPre-Construction Support\nAssist in reviewing project plans, specifications, and scope with engineers, surveyors, and clients.\nSupport estimating efforts, takeoffs, and constructability reviews.\nHelp prepare preliminary schedules, budgets, and resource plans.\nIdentify long-lead materials and assist with early procurement coordination.\nHelp prepare bid packages and gather subcontractor proposals.\nPermitting & Compliance\nAssist with permit applications, documentation, and tracking.\nCoordinate with regulatory agencies for inspections and approvals.\nMaintain compliance records for environmental, erosion control, and municipal requirements.\nScheduling & Coordination\nSupport the development and updating of project schedules.\nTrack critical path activities and upcoming milestones.\nCoordinate with Superintendents to ensure materials, equipment, and crews are aligned with schedule needs.\nHelp adjust schedules based on field conditions or design changes.\nProcurement & Materials Management\nAssist in purchasing materials, equipment, and subcontracted services.\nTrack deliveries, verify quantities, and resolve discrepancies.\nMaintain logs for materials, submittals, and equipment usage.\nSubcontractor & Vendor Support\nHelp prepare subcontract agreements and scopes of work.\nCoordinate subcontractor schedules and documentation.\nAttend coordination meetings and assist in resolving conflicts or issues.\nTrack subcontractor performance and compliance.\nField Operations Support\nConduct regular site visits to observe progress, quality, and safety.\nAssist Superintendents with documentation, RFIs, and field directives.\nHelp troubleshoot field issues and communicate solutions to the PM.\nSupport daily reporting, production tracking, and photo documentation.\nFinancial & Cost Control Assistance\nHelp maintain project budgets, cost codes, and financial logs.\nAssist in reviewing invoices, change orders, and pay applications.\nTrack quantities, production rates, and cost exposures.\nSupport the PM in forecasting and cost-to-complete updates.\nCommunication & Client Coordination\nAssist in preparing weekly progress reports and meeting agendas.\nHelp maintain clear communication with clients, engineers, and inspectors.\nDocument meeting minutes and follow-up actions.\nSupport relationship-building efforts with clients and stakeholders.\nQuality Control & Safety Support\nAssist in enforcing quality standards and verifying work meets specifications.\nSupport safety initiatives, toolbox talks, and site audits.\nTrack testing requirements (density, compaction, utilities, concrete, asphalt).\nHelp document and resolve non-conformance issues.\nProject Closeout\nAssist with punchlist creation, tracking, and completion.\nHelp compile as-builts, warranties, O&M manuals, and closeout documents.\nParticipate in post-project reviews and lessons-learned sessions.\nRequirements:\nBachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Building Science, or related field.\n1-3 years of experience in civil construction, site development, or related project support roles (internships included).\nStrong understanding of construction processes, drawings, and specifications.\nFamiliarity with scheduling, estimating, and project management principles.\nProficiency in MS Office;
