Ready to build what's next? #JoinTheBand\nWhat You'll Do:\nDesign, build, and operate services that power inbound/outbound call control, BXML processing, webhooks, and real-time media (e.g., WebSocket media streaming, WebRTC endpoints via BRTC).\nContribute to APIs and SDKs (REST, webhooks, SDKs across Node, Python, Java, and others) that developers use to build voice applications.\nWork cross-functionally with product managers, senior engineers, and support teams to ship features like conferencing, TTS/IVR, call recording and transcription, and answering machine detection.\nTroubleshoot and improve the performance, reliability, and scalability of high-volume, low-latency voice infrastructure.\nParticipate in code reviews, design discussions, and on-call rotations; write tests and documentation to a high bar.\nUse AI tools effectively across the development lifecycle, holding AI-generated code to the same security, style, and compliance standards as human-written code.\nWhat You Need:\n2-4 years of professional software engineering experience, ideally with distributed systems or APIs operating at scale.\nProficiency in Java (or a comparable statically typed language) and comfort working with REST APIs, webhooks, and asynchronous/event-drivensystems.\nFamiliarity with cloud infrastructure (AWS or similar) and SQL/relational data stores.\nSolid debugging and analytical skills - able to trace issues through multi-service, real-time systems.\nClear communicator who can collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.\nEagerness to learn telecom/real-time media concepts (SIP, WebRTC, media streaming) - prior experience is a plus, not a requirement.\nBonus Points:\nExperience with real-time communications technologies: WebRTC, SIP, RTP/media streaming, or VoIP.\nExposure to monitoring/observabilitytooling (e.g., Datadog) and infrastructure as code (Terraform).\nFamiliarity with modern CI/CD practices (e.g., GitHub Actions).\nExperience with high-throughput, low-latency systems or telecom/CPaaS platforms.\nThe Whole Person Promise:\nAt Bandwidth, we’re pretty proud of our corporate culture, which is rooted in our “Whole Person Promise.” We promise all employees that they can have meaningful work AND a full life, and we provide a work environment geared toward enriching your body, mind, and spirit.
