The General Manager sets the standard for hospitality, accountability, and teamwork while ensuring the restaurant consistently delivers an exceptional experience for both guests and employees.\nKey Responsibilities\nLeadership & People Development\nRecruit, hire, train, coach, and retain a high-performing team.\nBuild a positive workplace culture focused on respect, accountability, recognition, and development.\nLead and support department managers, supervisors, and front-line employees.\nConduct regular performance discussions and provide ongoing coaching and feedback.\nCreate development opportunities that help employees grow their careers within the organization.\nFoster strong communication and collaboration across all departments.\nGuest Experience & Operations\nEnsure exceptional service standards are consistently delivered.\nLead the operation with a visible and hands-on management style.\nRespond to guest feedback professionally and efficiently, turning challenges into opportunities.\nMonitor service quality, cleanliness, food presentation, and overall guest satisfaction.\nMaintain operational standards that support efficiency, consistency, and profitability.\nEnsure compliance with company policies, health and safety requirements, and industry regulations.\nFinancial Management\nDevelop and manage annual operating budgets.\nAchieve or exceed revenue, profitability, labour, and cost-control targets.\nMonitor key financial metrics and identify opportunities to improve performance.\nManage scheduling, labour productivity, inventory controls, purchasing, and waste reduction.\nReview financial reports, forecasts, and business results to support informed decision-making.\nWork closely with corporate support teams to achieve business objectives.\nCommunity & Business Development\nBuild relationships with local businesses, tourism partners, and community organizations.\nSupport marketing initiatives that increase awareness, traffic, and guest loyalty.\nIdentify opportunities to enhance the guest experience and grow revenue.\nRepresent Sudden Sally and Banff Lodging Co. professionally within the community.\nAdministration & Compliance\nEnsure payroll, reporting, and administrative functions are completed accurately and on time.\nMaintain compliance with employment standards, health and safety requirements, liquor regulations, and company policies.\nParticipate in leadership meetings and contribute to overall business planning and strategy.\nComplete additional responsibilities as required to support operational success.\nQualifications & Experience\nMinimum 3 to 5 years of senior restaurant or hospitality management experience in a high-volume environment.\nProven success leading teams and achieving financial targets.\nStrong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, labour management, inventory controls, and cost management.\nExcellent leadership, coaching, and employee engagement skills.\nExceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.\nStrong organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.\nAbility to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.\nPost-secondary education in Hospitality, Business, or a related field is considered an asset.\nA genuine passion for hospitality, people leadership, and creating memorable guest experiences.\nWhy Join Us?\nAt Sudden Sally, you'll have the opportunity to lead a talented team, influence the direction of a growing business, and play a key role in creating exceptional experiences for both guests and employees.
