Join us!\nJob Description:\nThis job is responsible for developing and delivering complex requirements to accomplish business goals. Key responsibilities of the job include ensuring that software is developed to meet functional, non-functional and compliance requirements, and solutions are well designed with maintainability/ease of integration and testing built-in from the outset. Job expectations include a strong knowledge of development and testing practices common to the industry and design and architectural patterns.\nResponsibilities:\nCodes solutions and unit test to deliver a requirement/story per the defined acceptance criteria and compliance requirements\nDesigns, develops, and modifies architecture components, application interfaces, and solution enablers while ensuring principal architecture integrity is maintained\nMentors other software engineers and coach team on Continuous Integration and Continuous Development (CI-CD) practices and automating tool stack\nExecutes story refinement, definition of requirements, and estimating work necessary to realize a story through the delivery lifecycle\nPerforms spike/proof of concept as necessary to mitigate risk or implement new ideas\nAutomates manual release activities\nDesigns, develops, and maintains automated test suites (integration, regression, performance)\nDesign, develop, test, and maintain enterprise-grade Java applications and microservices using Java and Spring Boot.\nDevelop and support event-driven applications using Apache Kafka, including producers, consumers, message processing, error handling, and integration with downstream systems.\nAnalyze and optimize SQL queries and application-to-database interactions to improve overall application performance.\nDevelop applications with a strong focus on performance, scalability, resiliency, availability, and fault tolerance.\nTroubleshoot complex application and production issues across the application, messaging, and database layers and perform effective root-cause analysis.\nWrite clean, reusable, well-tested code using appropriate unit, integration, and automated testing practices.\nParticipate in code reviews, technical design discussions, and architecture reviews, providing recommendations on implementation approaches.\nWork closely with product owners, business analysts, architects, QA engineers, infrastructure teams, and other developers to deliver end-to-end solutions.\nRequired Qualifications:\n5+ years of relevant work experience\nProficiency in programming language(s) required for the role\nStrong hands-on software development experience using Java, with solid knowledge of object-oriented programming, data structures, design patterns, and software engineering principles.\nStrong experience developing Spring Boot applications, REST APIs, and microservices.\nHands-on experience with Apache Kafka or similar event-driven messaging technologies, including producers, consumers, and message processing.\nStrong experience working with SQL databases, including writing and optimizing SQL queries and integrating databases with Java applications.\nExperience designing and developing scalable, reliable, and highly available backend applications.\nStrong understanding of RESTful services, distributed systems, and service-to-service integration.\nExperience with multithreading, concurrency, exception handling, and performance considerations in Java applications.\nExperience with automated testing, including unit and integration testing.\nFamiliarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, build tools, and standard software development practices.\nDesired Qualifications:\nExperience developing or supporting low-latency, high-throughput, or real-time processing systems.\nExperience with performance tuning and optimization of Java/Spring Boot applications.\nExperience analyzing and optimizing JVM, memory, threading, database, and messaging performance.\nExperience working with high-volume transactional or event-driven applications.\nFamiliarity with application monitoring, observability, logging, and performance-analysis tools.\nExperience designing applications for resiliency, fault tolerance, recovery, and high availability.\nSkills:\nApplication Development\nAutomation\nInfluence\nSolution Design\nTechnical Strategy Development\nArchitecture\nBusiness Acumen\nDevOps Practices\nResult Orientation\nSolution Delivery Process\nAnalytical Thinking\nCollaboration\nData Management\nRisk Management\nTest Engineering\nMinimum Education Requirement: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.\nShift:\n1st shift (United States of America)Hours Per Week:\n40Pay Transparency details\nUS - NJ - Jersey City - 101 Hudson St - 101 Hudson (NJ2101)Pay and benefits informationPay range$102,900.00 - $179,900.00 annualized salary, offers to be determined based on experience, education and skill set.Discretionary incentive eligibleThis role is eligible to participate in the annual discretionary plan.
