The role provides exposure to a broad range of stakeholders, datasets and business initiatives spanning Banking, Markets and Technology, while contributing to the development of scalable insight-led solutions.\nAccountabilities\nCollaboration with Banking, Markets and Technology teams to support client-focused initiatives through the generation of data-driven insights and analytical outputs.\nAnalysis of client, business and market data to identify trends, opportunities and insights that support decision-making and business activity across the Investment Bank.\nDevelopment and enhancement of dashboards, visualisations, reports and analytical tools that improve the accessibility and usefulness of client and business information.\nContribution to the design, testing and implementation of data, analytics and AI-enabled solutions that support workflow efficiency, insight generation and business outcomes.\nManagement and improvement of data quality, consistency and governance standards across datasets to support reliable reporting and analytics.\nSupport for the development of data platforms and analytical capabilities that enable scalable client intelligence, business development and coverage activities across Banking and Markets.\nCollaboration with cross-functional stakeholders to gather requirements, communicate findings and translate business needs into data-driven solutions.\nParticipation in training and professional development activities to build expertise in data analytics, AI, financial markets and client strategy, while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives within CDEG.\nAnalyst Expectations\nTo perform prescribed activities in a timely manner and to a high standard consistently driving continuous improvement.\nRequires in-depth technical knowledge and experience in their assigned area of expertise.\nThorough understanding of the underlying principles and concepts within the area of expertise.\nThey lead and supervise a team, guiding and supporting professional development, allocating work requirements and coordinating team resources.\nIf the position has leadership responsibilities, People Leaders are expected to demonstrate a clear set of leadership behaviours to create an environment for colleagues to thrive and deliver to a consistently excellent standard. You’ll work on real projects from day one, supported by a mentor and line manager, gaining hands-on experience across a 10-week programme. CDEG develops data platforms and analytical capabilities used across Markets and Banking, helping teams work with data more effectively and generate scalable, insight-led outputs.\nWho we’re looking for\nWe’re looking for students in their penultimate year from any academic background with an interest in data, analytics and financial markets.\nYou’ll:\nEnjoy working with data and solving problems\nDemonstrate structured thinking and analytical capability\nBe curious about financial markets and insight generation\nCommunicate clearly and work well in teams\nBe adaptable, proactive and keen to learn\nExperience with data analysis, programming (e.g. Python, SQL), or AI/ML concepts is beneficial but not required.\nBarclays will accept applications from candidates who require visa sponsorship to work in the UK and will provide a skilled worker visa for successful applicants if they meet the Home Office’s eligibility criteria for a skilled worker visa.
