Intelligent Technology Operations Technical Delivery Lead

Job Description

Purpose of the role

To manage the efficient delivery of large-scale technical projects and capabilities across the bank and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to understand their needs and expectations throughout the software product lifecycle, adhering to agreed time, budget and quality requirements.

Accountabilities

• Management of the delivery, resource allocation and improvement of complex technical project capabilities across the bank using Agile/Scrum methodologies for planning, stand-ups, demos, retrospectives and the execution of sprints.
• Collaboration with customers and business teams to manage and implement customer trails to support the proposal of technically feasible solutions, and effort and timeline expectations.
• Collaboration with software engineers, quality teams, product managers and other engineering teams to deliver high-quality products and features through the software project lifecycle aligned to the banks objectives, regulation and security policies.
• Identification, assessment, and mitigation of risks associated with technical projects to prepare the bank for potential challenges.
• Management of change requests and communication with stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
• Management of vendor relations involved in technical projects to ensure they deliver according to agreed terms.
• Stay abreast of the latest industry technology trends and technologies, to evaluate and adopt new approaches to improving deliver outcomes and to foster a culture of continuous learning, technical excellence and growth.

Join us as a Intelligent Technology Operations Technical Delivery Lead at Barclays, where you will drive strategic transformation across Technology Operations and IT Service Management-the backbone of the bank's operations responsible for maintaining service availability, reliability, resilience and operational stability. You will lead complex, cross-functional initiatives spanning observability, AI-enabled operations, event intelligence, SRE and automation, translating strategy into execution and ensuring measurable business outcomes through strong stakeholder alignment, delivery leadership and operational adoption.

To be successful as Intelligent Technology Operations Technical Delivery Lead, you should have experience with:

• Enterprise Technology Transformation Delivery - leading complex, cross-functional technology transformation programmes from strategy through execution and adoption.

• Strategic Delivery Leadership & Navigating Ambiguity - Demonstrated ability to operate in complex and evolving environments, synthesising inputs from multiple stakeholders, delivery teams and business priorities to identify interdependencies, connect the dots, and translate ambiguity into clear, targeted and executable delivery plans.

• Technology Operations & Engineering Practices - strong understanding of modern technology operations, including monitoring, observability, SRE, automation, event management, GenAI, with the ability to translate technical capabilities into business outcomes.

• Stakeholder Influence & Communication: Strong influencing skills with the ability to align multi-faceted stakeholders across business units and technology teams, drive outcomes without direct authority, and communicate complex multi-stream delivery, risks, dependencies and benefits to executive audiences.

Some other highly valued skills & experience include:

• GenAI, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) and AIOps transformation delivery.

• Leading organisational change, talent development, and workforce transformation to build the capabilities, behaviours and operating models required to sustain adoption of strategic change in line with long-term business outcomes.
