Job Description
Purpose of the role
To design, develop and improve software, utilising various engineering methodologies, that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues.
Accountabilities
- Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions by using industry aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
- Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.
- Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
- Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to the organization’s technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
- Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.
- Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.

To be successful in this role, you must have:
Advancedproficiencyin full-stack development with extensive hands-on coding experience in Core Java, JPA/Hibernate, Spring framework, and enterprise caching solutions.
Strong knowledge of Spring ecosystem technologies including Spring Boot, Spring-JMS, and Spring-Data.
Demonstrated ability to build secure, fault-tolerantand scalable enterprise applications across the entire technology stack.
Expert-level coding practices for RESTful API development and consumption with practical implementation ofOpenAPI/Swagger specifications.
Hands-on implementation of API security protocols and authentication mechanisms (OAuth2, JWT,mTLS, etc.).
Advanced database development skills with both relational (RDBMS) and NoSQL technologies.
Practical coding experience implementing event-driven architecture patterns and microservices.
Strong technical leadership capabilities with experience mentoring junior developers and conducting effective code reviews.
Ability to enforce code quality using tools like SonarQube and Veracode as feedback loops.
Proficient with developer tools including Jenkins, Maven, Gradle, Nexus, Git, and CI/CD pipelines.
Hands-on development experience with enterprise message broker platforms such as Kafka.
Strong understanding of Agile, DevOps, SRE principles and CI/CD practices.
Awareness of cloud platforms including OpenShift Enterprise, AWS, and cloud-native application development.
Working knowledge of testing methodologies including TDD, BDD, and automated testing frameworks.
Effective communication skills andstrong teamcollaboration abilities.
Some other highly valued skills may include:
Strong implementation experience with modern frontend technologies including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and frameworks such as Angular or React.
Advanced SQL optimization skills and performance tuning experience with Oracle or similar RDBMS.
Experience implementing API client SDKs and developer-focused documentation.
Familiarity with AI coding agents and specification-driven development practices.
Advanced troubleshooting capabilities for diagnosing and resolving complex performance issues at code level.
Practical experience with API ecosystem components including gateways, service meshes, and proxies.
Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
Working knowledge of ITIL-based release and change management processes.
Experience with specialized test automation tools (e.g., Selenium).
