Job Description

Purpose of the role

Product Managers are responsible for the leading the strategic focus of the product(s), defining the product vision, market strategy, and competitive analysis. They think about the product's future and how it will evolve over time. They work with various teams, including marketing, engineering, operations, and sales, to ensure everyone is aligned on the product strategy. They use data and market research to inform their decisions and prioritize product features.

Accountabilities

• Define Product Strategy: Accountable for defining a product strategy that aligns with business vision, managing capabilities, balancing short-term with long-term goals, ensuring that products meet market demands and drive growth.
• Cross functional alignment: Leadership of cross functional relationships, working with various cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of product strategy and goals.
• Risk and Control: Accountable for overseeing product risk management, including identification of potential risks, development of strategies to mitigate those risks, and maintenance of alignment between the product management and control functions.
• Product Development Lifecycle: Own product development lifecycle, from concept to launch, ensuring efficient processes, on-time delivery, and alignment with E2E customer expectations and experience. - working with product owners to drive change objectives.
• Deliver Product Goals and Performance: Deliver clear objectives and key outcomes to steer the product vision and ensure alignment with company’s business goals, financial targets, and strategic vision, driving long-term business success.
• Data driven decisions: Monitor product performance through data-driven analysis and insights, regularly assessing progress against objectives and adjusting the strategies as needed to optimise outcomes and maximise value for both business and customer.
• Customer-Centric Focus: Drive a customer -first approach across the product vision, ensuring customer insights, feedback, behaviours, and pain points are at the core of the product strategy and decision-making process.
• Business and financial acumen: Understanding pricing models, costs structures, and ROI to make financially grounded decisions regarding product development.

Join us as PB India Banking Product Manager - AVP, where you will:

• Take ownership of core banking products within the Private Banking India team, managing delivery, compliance, and client-centric solutions across CASA, deposits, escrow, and payments while aligning with evolving regulatory requirements.
• Own the full product lifecycle, from ideation through implementation, ensuring successful execution and continuous enhancement.
• Manage product governance, ALCO approvals, and regulatory updates in line with RBI, SEBI, FEMA, and other applicable regulations.
• Partner with Private Bankers and clients to design and deliver tailored banking solutions.
• Lead regulatory interpretation, exception approvals, and alignment of internal policies.
• Drive product pricing, positioning, and competitor benchmarking to enhance market competitiveness.
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders across Treasury, Legal, Risk, Compliance, Operations, and Technology.
• Prepare high-quality client-facing documentation and presentations for senior leadership.
• Identify opportunities to strengthen governance, mitigate risk, and improve operational efficiency.
• Influence stakeholders and provide expert guidance to support business objectives and strategic decision-making.

To be successful in this role, you should:

• Demonstrate strong knowledge of banking products, payments, and private banking operations.
• Possess a sound understanding of Indian regulatory frameworks, including RBI, SEBI, and FEMA.
• Apply commercial judgment and a client-centric approach to product development and management.
• Effectively manage multiple internal and external stakeholders while balancing business, regulatory, and client requirements.
• Analyse complex information from multiple sources to make informed, data-driven decisions.
• Communicate complex concepts clearly through strong documentation, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Take ownership of risk management, governance, and control processes.
• Drive process improvements and operational excellence while ensuring compliance with internal and external regulations.

Essential Skills / Basic Qualifications:

• Graduate degree.
• Strong understanding of Indian regulatory frameworks (RBI, SEBI, FEMA, etc.).
• Experience with governance processes such as ALCO, audit, and risk committees.
• Commercial acumen with a client-focused mindset.

Desirable Skills / Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience managing escrow structures, structured deposits, or liquidity products.
• Prior interaction with RBI or SEBI for product approvals or regulatory filings.
• Working knowledge of regulatory tools and technology platforms.
• Familiarity with FX, trade finance, and wealth-linked product offerings.
• Experience working in diverse and multicultural banking environments.
