They will also be expected to demonstrate the Barclays Mindset - to Empower, Challenge and Drive - the operating manual for how we behave.\nStep into the role of Software Engineer - PBI Data Analytics at Barclays, where you'll design, develop, and improve business intelligence and reporting solutions using Microsoft Power BI and supporting data technologies, enabling business, platform, and technology capabilities for internal stakeholders.\nYou may be assessed on key critical skills relevant for success in role such as:\nBuild, automate, operate, and govern Power BI datasets, semantic models, reports, and dashboards.\nDesign and develop scalable business intelligence and analytical solutions.\nOptimize Power BI data models, DAX calculations, refresh processes, and report performance.\nDesign and develop interactive dashboards and reports using Microsoft Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service.\nDevelop optimized data models using DAX measures and calculated columns.\nPerform data extraction, transformation, and loading using Power Query (M).\nTranslate business requirements into analytical and visualization solutions.\nCollaborate with data engineers and business stakeholders.\nPerform data validation and ensure accuracy of reported metrics.\nParticipate in peer reviews and promote BI best practices.\nStrong hands-on experience with Microsoft Power BI (Power BI Desktop, Service, DAX).\nStrong data analysis knowledge.\nKnowledge on Jira & JQL queries to understand and enhance the existing PBI reports.\nExpertise in designing efficient schemas and managing complex relationship cardinalities. \nKnowledge on using an intermediatory data warehouse (Snowflake or SQL server). \nEssential Skills / Qualifications\nStrong hands-on experience in Power BI development, including Power BI Desktop, Power BI Service, DAX, Power Query (M), data modelling, dashboards, and report publishing.\nStrong data analysis skills, with the ability to interpret business requirements, define meaningful metrics, validate data, and communicate actionable insights. Experience integrating, transforming, and modelling data from enterprise sources such as SQL Server, Snowflake, APIs, Excel, and flat files.\nPractical knowledge of data warehousing concepts, dimensional modelling, data quality, data governance, and secure handling of data.\nWorking knowledge of enterprise data platforms, including data storage, transformation, semantic modelling, analytics, and governed report deployment.\nExperience optimizing Power BI semantic models and reports for performance, scalability, usability, and maintainability.\nAbility to collaborate effectively with business stakeholders, data engineers, and technology teams throughout the solution delivery lifecycle.\nStrong analytical, problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills.\nDesirable / Good-to-Have Skills\nExperience with other data analytics and visualization tools, particularly Tableau;
