You will build and support enterprise data solutions that bring together SAP and non-SAP data and make it available for reporting, analytics and operational use. The role combines hands-on data engineering in Microsoft Fabric with a solid understanding of SAP BW. You will work with business stakeholders, data engineers, BI developers and architects to modernise Barco’s data landscape and deliver reliable, scalable solutions.\nResponsibilities\nAs Data Engineer, you will design, build and improve data solutions used across Barco. Your responsibilities will include:\nDesign and maintain scalable data pipelines in Microsoft Fabric. Build solutions using Fabric Lakehouse, Data Warehouse, Data Factory, notebooks and related platform capabilities.\nDevelop and maintain SAP BW/4HANA data models. Bring together data from SAP ERP, SAP BW and other enterprise applications.\nTransform, cleanse, validate and enrich data using PySpark and Spark SQL so it is accurate, consistent and ready for use.\nApply layered data architecture principles and create reusable components that speed up delivery.\nDevelop and optimise data models and datasets for Power BI reporting and analytics.\nWork directly with business and IT stakeholders to clarify needs and turn them into practical data solutions.\nMonitor data workflows, resolve issues and improve performance, reliability and cost efficiency.\nContribute to platform governance, security, administration, monitoring and automation.\nDocument solutions, follow agreed delivery and change processes, and share knowledge with colleagues and users. \nQualifications\n3-5 years of experience in data engineering, business intelligence, data warehousing or a similar role.\nMust have completed B.E / B.tech / MCA /M.Tech in educational background. \nHands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric or Azure data services\nKnowledge of Fabric Lakehouse, Data Warehouse, Data Factory and notebooks is preferred.\nStrong SQL skills and experience with ETL/ELT, data integration, modelling, and warehousing.\nExperience with Python for data processing and pipelines.\nExperience with SAP BW, preferably BW/4HANA, and knowledge of SAP ERP data.\nExperience with Power BI, semantic modelling, Power Query or DAX is an advantage.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.\nClear communication and collaboration skills across business, technical and global teams.\nBachelor’s, master’s or engineering degree in computer science, IT, data engineering or a related field.\nGood written and spoken
