IOS is a medium to high complexity, capital maintenance and enhancement, Civil and MEICA, design and build delivery unit working across Water and Water Recycling to support the successful implementation of the Anglian Water AMP 8 business plan.\nHSE Advisor\nThe Role\nAs an HSE Advisor, you will support a number of projects to meet the requirements of the Health, Safety & Environmental Management systems. You will assist the site teams and managers through your inspections by recognising hazards and seeking to minimise risks whilst creating, maintaining, and improving health, safety & environmental standards. You will champion HSE initiatives in the workplace whilst ensuring that legislation is adhered to.\nKey Responsibilities\nSupport the provision of Health & well-being within the business, under the direction of the HSE Manager\nSupport the communication and promotion of the monthly themes\nPromote the value of occupational health at a local level\nProvide consistent and accurate HSE advice to employees\nDeliver support to regions on HSE initiatives/Issues and Problems\nContribute to general communications at a local level\nCompile and communicate HSE alerts following incidents to promote learning, prevention and continual improvement under the direction and review of the HSE Manager\nUndertaking timely investigations in accordance with the timeframes set out in CG151-01 Guidance on Incident Investigation & Reporting\nKeep the HSE Manager, Head of HSE and local management informed on the incident investigation status\nIdentify Immediate, Underlying and Root causes within relevant investigation reports\nProduce HSE alerts where appropriate in consultation with the HSE Manager\nMonitoring, verifying & supporting the reporting of HSE statistics for regions monthly as directed by the HSE Manager\nLog all significant PI’s, Minor Injuries, RIDDORS, SIF and PSIF incidents onto Envoy, completing the investigation (for significant PI’s, RIDDORS, LTi’s, SIF & PSIF and Service Strikes with the potential to cause harm)\nSupport the production of a monthly HSE report for the HSE Manager and the Regional Lead, incorporating locally agreed information and content\nEnsure internal and external HSE alerts are cascaded within regions where appropriate\nSupport monitoring of regional HSE trends, highlighting areas for improvement and supporting Heads of HSE, HSE Managers and Regional Leads on improvement deliverables\nSupport the production and cascade of monthly PI posters with ‘closing the loop’ information\nProvide monthly HSE statistics as directed by the HSE Manager and Client\nFeedback updates for HSE matters detailing Incidents, Front Foot activities, and High-Risk sites from the Region to the HSE Manager in readiness for the weekly HSE Teams calls\nLog Cardinal Rule non-conformances emanating from Detailed Inspections onto Envoy, linking responsibility for closure. Include outstanding closures in a monthly report to the HSE Manager\nCoordinate data and actions from contact with Enforcement Agencies, ensuring that all contacts are logged on the CF152-50 Enforcement Authorities Form, and outstanding actions are closed in consultation with the HSE Manager\nProvide support and advice in accordance with HSE Advisor responsibilities set out in CPR636 Process for Managing Facilities Management Pack\nComplete HSE Detailed Inspections and HSE Advisory Notes per month (as agreed with HSE Manager)\nSupport regions in delivering local HSE improvement outputs and HSE strategic outputs as directed by the Regional Head of HSE and HSE Manager\nReview weekly Positive Intervention Reporting from regions and determine root causes & Front Foot actions\nSupport Line Managers with ‘Back to Work’ risk assessments where people are fit with restrictions\nSupport the Expectant Mother risk assessments within regions\nProvide support for New Staff on HSE Management System Onboarding within 1st month of employment.\nProvide Internal Auditor directions and support on regional audits to maintain the internal audit schedule\nEssential\nNEBOSH general certificate or equivalent as a minimum, but ideally IOSH\nCEnv or equivalent as a minimum, but ideally associated with ISEP\nClient-facing\nAnalytical skills to interpret detailed information and regulations\nPeople skills - ability to liaise with staff/operatives of all levels within Barhale\nExcellent use of the MS Office suite of packages\nEffective communicator with strong presentation and report-writing skills\nCSCS Safety Professional card\nAble to work as a member of a team, but capable of working alone to tight deadlines as appropriate\nDesireable\nExtensive HSE experience within a civil engineering environment, with experience in the rail sector\nLevel 3 AET or PTTLS\nIncident investigation course - Kelvin TOPSET or equivalent - 1-day training course\nCaring and investing in you\nOur values have been embedded at Barhale for over 40 years, and they are our guiding principles regarding how we care and invest in people.
