You will be responsible for delivering various projects to the specified quality, within the required programme, and with maximum commercial performance.\nThe successful candidate will work closely with the Contracts Manager/Project Manager, engineers, and quantity surveyors to ensure that projects are completed in a safe manner whilst customer requirements and expectations are always maintained or exceeded.\nKey Responsibilities\nSite Management\nOverall responsibility for the successful delivery of various projects in the Civils and Water sectors\nDeliver the work to the specified quality without defects\nWhen required, lead a team of Sub Agents, Engineers, and Foremen to deliver the work safely without environmental incidents, and to the specified quality.\nEnsure production and implementation of Project Plans, RAMS, and ITP as well as Waste Management Plans, when specified, in line with Company procedures\nEnsure the commercial performance of the contract is maximised\nProduce and manage the project construction programme as well as produce a 2-week look-ahead.\nProduce procurement schedules and liaise with the procurement department to ensure sites have adequate resources to complete the tasks\nClient interface\nUndertake an ambassadorial role representing the business to customers, the public and official bodies\nDeliver product to customer requirements and satisfaction\nCost control\nPopulate and manage the Barhale cost plan for the project\nMaximise project value\nEnsure detailed site diaries/records are completed\nMaintain commercial tension to drive out cost and challenge the status quo\nEndeavour to spot and highlight value engineering opportunities\nReporting\nProduce good quality, accurate monthly reports internally and for the Client\nChair weekly site meetings in line with Company procedures\nAbout you\nEssential\n\nExperience of working within Civil Engineering and as a Site Agent for a contractor, delivering projects in a highly regulated environment\nWorking knowledge of contract conditions, CDM regulations, Design Management, Programme and Risk Management and cost control, including forecasting, actual cost, and value reporting\nGood knowledge of specifications and testing regimes relevant to general civil engineering\nDegree/HNC in Civil Engineering, or equivalent\nCSCS Mandatory\nIOSH Managing Safely or SMSTS\nTemporary works Coordinator\nConfined space training\nExcellent communication, people, and team management skills\nAbility to challenge designs and resolve problems to a conclusion\nAbility to demonstrate the right behaviours and lead the team to ensure the culture is in line with our Company values\nDesirable\n\nCEng MICE, or equivalent\nKnowledge of Primavera P6 software\nUnderstanding of JCT and NEC forms of contract\nCaring and investing in you\nOur values have been embedded at Barhale for over 40 years, and they are our guiding principles regarding how we care and invest in people.
