We are going to do great things.\nWhat you will be doing\nWe are seeking a skilled and proactive InfraOps Engineer to join our IT Operations team. This role is responsible for maintaining, optimizing, and securing our infrastructure across on-premises and cloud environments. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in systems administration, automation, cloud technologies and identity management, with some exposure to database operations.\nYou will help keep Baringa’s infrastructure reliable, secure and continually improving by solving complex incidents, supporting Windows and Azure services, and taking ownership of key services. You’ll use automation and collaborate across Technology & Cyber to strengthen operations and bring new services smoothly into support.\nIt’s a varied, hands-on role where you can troubleshoot, automate, strengthen resilience and contribute to meaningful improvements. You’ll have the freedom to take ownership, share your knowledge and make a visible impact within a supportive InfraOps team.\nInfrastructure and Cloud Operations\nMonitor, maintain, and troubleshoot servers, storage, and network systems.\nDeploy, operate and improve Azure infrastructure services, including virtual machines, networking, storage, monitoring and Azure Virtual Desktop where applicable.\nImplement cloud governance, cost optimization, and scaling strategies.\nExplore and implement constant improvements of the infrastructure stack, in line with ITIL.\nDatabase Operations\nAdminister and maintain MSSQL and Azure SQL databases.\nMonitor performance and manage backups and restores.\nImplement efficient user and group-based access control using SQL Server roles and Active Directory integration.\nEnsure least-privilege access and regularly audit permissions.\nUser and Group Management\nManage user identities and group memberships across Active Directory and Azure AD.\nImplement role-based access control (RBAC) for infrastructure and database resources.\nCollaborate with Security and Compliance teams to enforce access policies.\nAutomation and Scripting\nAutomate infrastructure tasks using Azure, PowerShell, Bash, Python, or Terraform.\nDevelop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure provisioning.\nMonitoring and Incident Response \nManage monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds).\nRespond to incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement fixes.\nSecurity and Compliance\nApply patches and updates to infrastructure components.\nManage firewalls, access controls, and vulnerability scans.\nEnsure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.\nCompile and report infrastructure operations for audits such as ISO and CE+\nCollaboration and Documentation\nWork closely with DevOps, Security, and Application teams.\nDocument infrastructure configurations, procedures, and incident reports.\nTake part in major incident management operations with the MIM.\nYour skills and experience\nProven senior-level experience in infrastructure operations, systems administration and service ownership.\nStrong hands-on experience supporting Microsoft Azure infrastructure, including virtual machines, networking, storage, monitoring, backup and recovery.\nStrong Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID experience, including hybrid identity, role-based access, privileged access and access reviews.\nExperience managing Windows Server services, including DNS, DHCP, certificates, file services, Group Policy and server lifecycle management.\nBackup, restore and disaster recovery experience, including completing restores and participating in recovery exercises.\nOperational networking knowledge, including IP addressing, routing, DNS, virtual networks, firewalls, VPNs and connectivity troubleshooting.\nExperience with monitoring, patching and vulnerability management, including alert improvement, remediation prioritisation and risk evidence.\nStrong incident, problem and change management skills, including ownership of complex incidents, root-cause analysis and controlled production changes.\nProficiency in scripting and infrastructure automation, particularly PowerShell, with suitable use of version control and peer review.\nExcellent communication and documentation skills, with the ability to work across global teams, coach colleagues and produce clear technical and audit evidence.\nWhat a career at Baringa will give you \nPuttingPeopleFirst.\nBaringa is a People First company and wellbeing is at the forefront of our culture.
