Reporting to the Associate Director of AV Services, this role will focus on project planning, equipment lifecycle management, interdepartmental coordination, and designing technology standards for new and upgraded campus spaces . The Coordinator will serve as a key liaison across departments, assist with Crestron and Extron programming needs, manage technical documentation and communications, and support time-sensitive AV Services deliverables. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.Job Description:\nProject Management & Strategic Support\nCollaborate with the Associate Director of AV Services to plan and execute AV-related projects aligned with departmental goals, particularly those involving new construction spaces and upgrades to existing spaces.\n\nTrack timelines, monitor deliverables, and communicate project progress to stakeholders.\n\nPropose solutions to logistical and technical project challenges proactively and in keeping with the goals of the department and the College.\n\nIn consultation with the Director and Associate Director, manage the removal and strategic reallocation of AV equipment from spaces undergoing renovation or demolition.\n\nAV System Programming & Integration\nAssist with minor Crestron and Extron programming tasks, including interface adjustments, configuration updates, and troubleshooting control system issues.\n\nSupport the testing and deployment of AV control systems to ensure full functionality across instructional and event spaces.\n\nDocument and communicate system programming changes to relevant stakeholders.\n\nAsset Tracking & Equipment Coordination\nMaintain and update AV equipment inventories including all relevant technical and device data.\n\nOrganize, catalog, and assess aging equipment across campus; determine items for reuse, donation, or disposal based on system compatibility and future instructional needs.\n\nAssist with infrastructure assessments for classrooms and event spaces to determine technology compatibility and installation feasibility.\n\nDocumentation & Communication\nDraft and edit updates for the AV Services website, internal knowledge base (wiki), and related training materials.\n\nAssist with documentation of AV system configurations and operational standards to ensure knowledge continuity during staffing transitions and departmental restructuring.\n\nProvide coordination support during periods of high activity (e.g., semester transitions, campus-wide events, construction phases).\n\nInterdepartmental Collaboration\nAssist and support the Associate Director in liaising between AV Services and campus partners, including Events Management, Special Events, Facilities, BCIT, and Capital Projects, to ensure timely completion of AV-related deliverables.\n\nAssist in creating training and materials for faculty and administrative staff using AV-enabled spaces.\n\nSkills, Qualifications & Requirements:\nBachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.\nMinimum of 2-3 years' experience in technical support, audiovisual services, or event production.\nExperience working in educational institutions preferred.\nProficiency with Google Workspace (especially Google Sheets).\nFamiliarity with a broad range of audiovisual equipment, including legacy systems and current platforms.\nHands-on experience with Extron and Crestron control systems; basic programming or configuration knowledge required.\nCTS (Certified Technology Specialist) certification preferred.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills.\nHighly organized with strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.\nProven ability to manage competing priorities and communicate effectively under pressure.\nExceptional interpersonal skills with a collaborative, solutions-oriented mindset.\nAbility to perform physical tasks related to AV installation and equipment transport.\nFlexibility to work nonstandard hours as needed.\nThis is a 12-month, in-person role that may require occasional evening and weekend hours.\nSalary Range: $73,000 - $80,000 annually\nThe salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training.
