In this role, you'll develop engineered lift plans, crane studies, rigging arrangements, below-the-hook lifting devices, and other custom solutions that help safely execute complex projects.\nThis position is ideal for an engineer who enjoys problem-solving, working closely with operations teams, and seeing designs move from concept to successful execution in the field.\nKey Responsibilities\nDevelop engineered lift plans, rigging studies, and transportation plans for complex projects.\nDesign below-the-hook lifting devices, including spreader bars, lift beams, and personnel work platforms.\nPrepare crane lift studies and equipment selection analyses.\nCreate 3D CAD models and detailed fabrication drawings to support project execution.\nReview and revise engineering drawings, calculations, and design packages.\nProvide engineering support to project and operations teams throughout project planning and execution.\nCollaborate with project teams to communicate progress, resolve technical challenges, and deliver practical solutions.\nInterpret and maintain as-built drawings and engineering documentation.\nPerform engineering analyses to ensure designs meet applicable codes, standards, and project requirements.\nSupport project goals related to safety, quality, schedule, and budget.\nReview and improve engineering standards, drafting templates, and design processes.\nConduct site visits and field assessments as required.\nMaintain a high standard of safety, accountability, innovation, and professionalism.\nWork safely in industrial environments that may include exposure to heights, moving machinery, electrical systems, and other operational hazards.\nPerform other duties as assigned.\nQualifications\nBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Civil Engineering.\nProfessional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation or eligibility for registration with APEGA, EGBC, APEGS, Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba (EGM), or PEO.\nMinimum 2 years of engineering or design experience in a related role.\nProficiency with Autodesk Product Design Suite and 3D CAD modeling.\nStrong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.\nExperience with Mathcad and RISA is considered an asset.\nStrong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills.\nAbility to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.\nValid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as required.\nPreferred Experience\nExperience with mobile cranes, rigging, lifting systems, heavy hauling, jack-and-slide operations, or heavy transportation projects.\nExperience developing engineered lift plans and rigging studies.\nFamiliarity with structural steel design and fabrication drawings.\nExperience working in industrial, construction, energy, mining, or heavy civil environments.\nBarnhart Offers\nCompetitive compensation package.\nComprehensive health and wellness benefits.\nRetirement savings opportunities.\nProfessional development and continuing education support.\nOpportunities to work on unique and challenging projects across Canada.\nCareer growth within one of North America's leading heavy lift, heavy transport, and engineered solutions companies.\nPURPOSE\n- Barnhart is built on a strong foundation of serving others.
