Our Exploration division is growing, and we are looking for a Geophysicist to join our team!\nThe Geophysicist will provide geophysical solutions to the North America Exploration teams, spanning field-based and desktop activities. The role covers the full geophysical workflow, including survey and program design, QA/QC, data management, modelling and inversion, interpretation, and integration to make discoveries. The Geophysicist works closely with district teams and the regional technical group, supporting programs from regional-scale generative exploration through to advanced greenfield, brownfield, and near-mine targets. All work is undertaken with a strong emphasis on field validation, data quality, technical rigor, safety, efficiency, and alignment with Barrick Gold Corporation values.\nThe yearly salary for this position will be $97,000 - $109,000 CAD. We are committed to a safe work environment sending every person home safe and healthy every day and leaving a sustainable legacy on our host communities.\nResponsibilities:\nManagement of all aspects of project design, planning, data collection, processing, analysis, data quality control and reporting for multiple airborne, down-hole and ground-based geophysical surveys.\n\nConcurrently manage various geophysics-related tasks for multiple projects within North America\n\nContribute to the integration of geophysical ideas and interpretation within North America for the identification of new prospective projects, project areas, or brownfield targets. This includes Barrick´s and third-party projects.\n\nSupervise external contractors and consultants and ensure activities are in compliance with Barrick´s standards.\n\nDocument studies, outcomes and recommendations in relevant work plans and final reports.\n\nSupport New Exploration Opportunity initiatives on the processing, analysis, data quality control and reporting for multiple geophysical data provided by third-party companies.\n\nQualifications:\nMinimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Geophysics required\n\nMinimum 5 years of mining geophysics experience preferentially for gold and/or copper mineralization preferred\n\nSome field experience performing geophysical surveys in industry preferred\n\nCompetence in Geosoft (Oasis Montaj), inversion packages, and ArcGIS/QGIS required\n\nDemonstrated commitment to safety, community, and environment required\n\nGood communication and administration skills required\n\nSelf-motivated and discovery-driven, with focus on leadership required\n\nGeological/geophysical interpretive/integration skills required\n\nFirm understanding and recognition of mineralization models and geological processes required\n\nFirm understanding of technical aspects of mining geophysical techniques required\n\nSolid understanding of modern geophysical acquisition systems and processing flows required\n\nOral/written English proficiency required\n\nPhysically able to work in remote field conditions and drive long distances required\n\nEligible to live and work in Canada or USA required\n\nAble to work in-office 1 day a
