The Autonomous Systems Engineer is responsible for supporting, optimizing, and advancing autonomous haulage and mobile equipment systems within active mining operations. This role works cross-functionally with Operations, Maintenance, IT, and OEM partners to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient performance of autonomous technologies. commissioning, and continuous improvement of autonomous haulage and mobile equipment systems\nMonitor system performance, identify gaps, and implement optimization strategies to improve productivity and reliability\nTroubleshoot hardware, software, network, and integration issues in collaboration with OEMs and site teams\nAnalyze operational data to drive performance improvements and enhance system utilization\nSupport change management and operational readiness initiatives related to autonomous systems\nDevelop and maintain technical documentation, procedures, and training materials\nProvide technical guidance and training to operations and maintenance teams\nParticipate in incident investigations related to autonomous systems and implement corrective actions\nEnsure compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements\nSupport long-term automation strategy and technology roadmap initiatives\nQualifications:\nBachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field required\n3-7+ years of experience in mining operations, mobile equipment systems, industrial automation, or related field preferred\nExperience with autonomous haulage systems (AHS) or fleet management systems strongly preferred\nWorking knowledge of control systems, networking, GPS, LiDAR, radar, and industrial communication protocols preferred\nExperience with data analysis tools and performance monitoring systems preferred\nStrong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills preferred\nDemonstrated commitment to safety and operational excellence required\nAbility to work in a dynamic, field-based mining environment required\nStrong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills required\nExperience supporting autonomous systems from OEMs such as Caterpillar Inc., Komatsu Ltd., or Epiroc AB preferred\nFamiliarity with fleet management platforms such as Cat MineStar or Komatsu FrontRunner preferred\nExperience working in surface or underground mining environments preferred\nProject management or system implementation experience preferred\nSite-based position within an active mining operation preferred\nAbility to work rotating shifts or flexible schedules as required\nAbility to occasionally travel to other sites or OEM
