The successful candidate will have the opportunity to play in a role in various commercial space endeavors with our partners that include NASA, Intuitive Machines, Axiom Space, Lockheed Martin, and others.\nResponsibilities\nThe Mechanical Engineer will:\nLead the design the structural and mechanical components and assemblies of critical, cutting-edge spaceflight systems, establishing technical approaches, evaluating trade studies, and ensuring system-level integration and performance\nDelivery of high-quality models, documentation, and drawings that meet customer requirements and engineering standards\nReview and approve models and drawings of other engineers\nPerform preliminary analysis (FEA and hand calculations) to demonstrate compliance with spaceflight design standards \nFacilitate the manufacturing, assembly, and delivery of spaceflight hardware\nServe as a primary technical interface with customer counterparts, requirement owners, suppliers, and integrated product teams to define requirements, resolve technical issues, and promote mission success.\nQualifications\nRequired Education/Experience/Skills:\nBS degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited engineering school, plus ten (10) years of related engineering experience\nDemonstrated experience leading mechanical design efforts through the full product lifecycle\nExpertise in complex assemblies, hardware development, and production support.\nApplied experience using CAD modeling software (Creo, NX, SolidWorks, etc.)\nApplied experience creating engineering drawings to ASME Y14.5 (GD&T)\nProject management or other leadership experience\nExperience working on cross-discipline engineering teams\nExcellent communication skills (in both written and verbal), integration, coordination and presentation skills\nPreferences:\nWorking experience with spaceflight\nApplied experience using FEA modeling software (Ansys, Simcenter, etc…)\nExperience in a manufacturing environment\nExperience with requirement development, decomposition, documentation, and review\nExperience developing technical documentation\nWorking experience with Windchill\nWorking experience with product lifecycle management software\nMaster of Science degree in Engineering\nEssential Requirements\nMust be a U.S. Citizen and successfully complete a U.S. government background investigation.\nApplicant selected may be subject to government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.\nWork may involve sitting for extended periods.\nMay require lifting and carrying up to 25 lb.\nMust have sufficient mobility to enter areas of test facilities where necessary.\nGenerally, an office environment but can involve inside or outside work depending on task.\nStandard office equipment (PC, telephone, fax, etc.)\nRegular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is critical.\nAbility to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements when required.\nMust be able to work in a team atmosphere.\nMust put forward a professional behavior that enhances productivity and promotes teamwork and cooperation.\nGrooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employee or others.\nThis position may require some commuting and traveling to other installations as needed.\nDon’t miss out on this great opportunity; for immediate consideration, apply now!\nBarrios Technology is a drug-free workplace, which is imperative to the health and safety of all employees and is required as a condition of receiving contracts from federal agencies.
