Our Commercial Space team is positioned to contribute to the future of space exploration as we build partnerships with established leaders in Commercial Space. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to play in a role in various commercial space endeavors with our partners that include Intuitive Machines, Axiom Space, Lockheed Martin, and others.\nResponsibilities\nThe Network Operations Engineer will:\nPerform real-time network configuration updates to support mission timelines, customer objectives, and spacecraft positioning.\nMonitor live network performance and rapidly address anomalies to reduce operational impacts.\nDevelop advanced proficiency in Delay Tolerant Networking (DTN) for communications across lunar and cislunar environments.\nHandle urgent customer-driven requests during critical mission windows.\nTrack network trends, recurring issues, and system behavior to recommend reliability improvements.\nDeliver clear status updates and operational assessments to internal teams and customers.\nParticipate in simulations, training runs, and mission rehearsals to maintain operational readiness.\nSupport development projects that enhance automation, tools, and operational workflows.\nQualifications\nRequired Education/Experience/Skills:\nBS degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent from an accredited engineering school, plus five (5) years of related network design or operations experience\nStrong grounding in IP networking concepts, including routing, switching, and network analysis/modeling tools.\nAbility to work shifts and provide after-hours operational coverage when needed.\nHigh degree of operational discipline, precision, and attention to detail.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills.\nPreferences:\nExperience supporting mission-critical, customer-facing, or high-availability network systems.\nBackground in satellite communications, space relay networks, or ground station operations.\nExperience operating within real-time command centers or console-based environments.\nFamiliarity with scripting, automation tooling, or configuration management systems.\nEssential Requirements:\nMust be a U.S. Citizen and successfully complete a U.S. government background investigation.\nPost offer applicants and employees are subject to testing for marijuana, cocaine, opioids, amphetamines, PCP, and alcohol as outlined in our Drug Free Workplace policy.\nWork may involve sitting for extended periods.\nMay require lifting and carrying up to 25 lb.\nMust have sufficient mobility to enter areas of test facilities where necessary.\nGenerally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on task.\nStandard office equipment (PC, telephone, fax, etc.)\nRegular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is critical.\nAbility to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements when required.\nMust be able to work in a team atmosphere.\nMust put forward a professional behavior that enhances productivity and promotes teamwork and cooperation.\nGrooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employee or others.\nThis position may require some commuting and traveling to other installations as needed.\nDon’t miss out on this great opportunity; for immediate consideration, apply now!\nBarrios Technology is a drug-free workplace, which is imperative to the health and safety of all employees and is required as a condition of receiving contracts from federal agencies.
