As NASA’s largest engineering solutions provider working together with NASA at centers across the United States.\nWe have an exciting opportunity for a Project Engineer - Flight Projects to join the team with Barrios, a teammate company!\nResponsibilities\nThe Project Engineer will focus on:\nDeveloping project documentation and maintaining status of drawings, procurements, risks. Etc.\n\nWorking with design team and analyst to ensure project requirements are achieved.\n\nInspection of hardware upon receipt to verify match with fabrication drawing/models\n\nTest rig and equipment buildup as needed\n\nData analysis of test results\n\nAssist project management with configuration control of project documentation\n\nDevelopment of test procedures including working with various organizations across JSC for flight certification of hardware.\n\nWorking with the ISS community, specifically the vehicle office, to develop integrated operation con-ops\n\nDevelop presentations.\n\nWork in a team environment and report to the team lead to provide status on progress and issues and for support.\n\nPerform other duties as required.\n\nQualifications\nRequired Education/Experience/Skills:\nBachelor's degree in engineering, plus five (5) years of experience in the field or in a related area.\n\nExperience with the development of requirements documents including functional requirements and verification success criteria.\n\nExperience with the design, assembly, verification, testing, and operation of space hardware systems\n\nKnowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in the space hardware field, such as mechanical and electrical system design, engineering drawings and sketches, material selection, and design software and tools\n\nAbility to prepare written documents and to verbally present at various meetings\n\nFamiliarity with Microsoft Office products\n\nPreferences:\nPrevious experience in designing and building EVA related unique hardware\n\nPrevious testing experience\n\nKnowledge/use of CAD modeling software\n\nFamiliarity with machine shop techniques and processing hardware through the manufacturing process.\n\nAbility to perform hands on test buildup, data processing, and documentation including test plans and reports\n\nExperience with NASA flight hardware certification process highly desired.\n\nFamiliar with Johnson Space Center (JSC) organizations, processes, and procedures\n\nAbility to work independently\n\nEssential Requirements\nMust be a U.S. Citizen and successfully complete a U.S. government background investigation.\nApplicant selected may be subject to government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.\nWork may involve sitting for extended periods.\nMay require lifting and carrying up to 25 lb.\nMust have sufficient mobility to enter areas of test facilities where necessary.\nGenerally, an office environment but can involve inside or outside work depending on task.\nStandard office equipment (PC, telephone, fax, etc.)\nRegular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is critical.\nAbility to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements when required.\nMust be able to work in a team atmosphere.\nMust put forward a professional behavior that enhances productivity and promotes teamwork and cooperation.\nGrooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employee or others.\nThis position may require some commuting and traveling to other installations as needed.\nDon’t miss out on this great opportunity; for immediate consideration, apply now!\nBarrios Technology is a drug-free workplace, which is imperative to the health and safety of all employees and is required as a condition of receiving contracts from federal agencies.
